My new ganza Sarsquatch CE came in. Wow, this is the sharpest new Busse I have ever seen. For those of us that value performance over paint jobs, the CE option is great.

As you can see, the factory convex edge was ground even thinner than mine that I did on a stripped CG model.

I figured if Busse can go that thin, so can I. Jerry knows a lot more about grinding than I do. So back to the belt my CG went to try and make the edge as thin as the CE edge. I think I got pretty close, but the CE edge is straighter than mine.

These new Busse CE editions are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Lookin Good down in South Georgia Horn Dog.
Dont try too chop all the vegetation on the island at once.:D
Nice looking combo. Chickenplucker

I whole hartedly agree Horndog, My CE Jackhammer is the sharpest Busse out of the box that I own. The next best would be the original CS Active Duty, and its a CLOSE second. That AD was king for a very long time.

Hopefully he'll start making it standard, I'm afraid to say that I've had a few Busse's over the years that couldn't cut Whipped Cream.

Mohels all over NYC are begging for one.

I love mine. Best Busse yet. And I don't toss that title around. Ever.

'Performance over paint jobs'?!?! I say you can have both in a field knife. Those ready made beaters look OK too.

I have to agree with mhawg. I love my Busse's and my Sarsquatches in particular but you could put a pretty good convex edge on them coated or not. I have a drawer full of Bark Rivers that have convinced me I want a good convex on all my Busse's. The CE was a nice gimmick, now give us that kind of performance in our standard CG's. I am not a big fan of INFI dimples strictly from a corrosion standpoint (ok looks standpoint also). Thats why I only bought the CG model of the Sarsquatch figuring I could eventually get my convex to the CE finish without the dimples. I have a nice convex on it now but I need to send it to one of our qualified belt sander brethren to thin it out. They say it had a convex to start with, and I am certainly no expert, but it was no convex in my opinion. Luckily enough, I have sandpaper and mouse pads and plenty of free time. Well, maybe not so much free time. I would like to see a true convex on more of Busse products. I have some old school asymm's so I know they can do it well. Minor gripe, I still won't trade my Busse's for anything. In fact, I still haven't traded or sold a single one. Love them all, except maybe for my tac handles. But that is another thread entirely.

If you look closely, you'll see that the CG is actually a convex primary grind rather than a flat one. Feel it between your thumb and forefinger and go from the spine down. It is not too hard to grind off that obtuse factory V grind at the final edge and blend it with the convex primary grind. My CG is now almost identical to the CE in cross-sectional profile. And yes, you can put a nice convex edge on it without stripping it. But it will leave a fairly wide strip of bare steel at the final edge.

The CE's are awesome knive's! Esp the SAR's

Your CG edge is also looking great:thumbup:

Love those SARs and those look REALLY sharp! I missed out on them but hopefully will grab one down the road, preferably in-the-white, without paint!
