Will probably be in AUS8.

I searched around here trying to see if someone had already said so, but couldn't find it.

I saw this on the CS forums, from someone who is employed by CS I guess and reported this to the people on that forum.

I would post a link to the thread, but I'm not sure if that's allowed.

That is all. Other than the fact that I'm absolutely incensed that they won't be in San Mai or VG1.

That is a drag. I knew there was a reason that I am buying up the 'old' VG-1 Voyagers. However, in all fairness, Cold Steel does a good job with their AUS-8.
 
What was the steel on the old Voyagers ? I thought they were AUS8a. There is nothing wrong with AUS8a, with the proper HT it makes a fine steel.
 
They were VG-1. They were advertising an upgrade to San-Mai III (whatever that is) in the catalogues but there was a delay.
 
They'll advertise whatever they're using as better than the competition. Their AUS8 was always pretty good stuff though. Took a real keen edge & wasn't brittle or chippy.
