The Candiru is saber ground. The Izula was done right -- full flat ground.
The Candiru is too small for normal hands. The Izula was done right -- perfect length handle.

FAIL

Strange,I love mine and wear it everyday. Best 2 and a half finger handle there is to be worn around the neck.

Of course, to paraphrase another great mind: YMMV

Yeah the Candiru just doesn't do it for me. Izula and Swamp Warden, the two best neckers out there in my opinion.

heh. candiru's thinner stock to begin with, i think saber was the way to go with that one... with the scales added, it's a good fit in my long skinny hands. just need to pick up a better sheath.

Hmm... okay, I should have specified too. WITH the scales, and WITH a decent sheath. I can understand that without the extra half inch width, handling might be a little bit uncomfortable if not awkward. And the stock sheath is nothing to write home about. I got one from Azwelke, and since that moment, the Candiru hangs nicely and securely from my neck.

And for posterity; I got pretty average hands.

It's a great blade, so instead of pissing and moaning about it, use it and see how much it is actually capable of. I've had mine since they came out and I carry and use it almost daily. If this blade were ffg, it would be far less durable. For this size blade, I haven't found another that is nearly as well done.

I've had mine for about 3 months and it's been great! I couldn't ask more out of a blade that small. I've done a lot of prying with it as well as some wood processing. It surprised me most on the job site I was working, I used it to open paint cans and cut shingles along with some general use. After the job it sharpened back to shaving sharp. For its size I would like to see another knife hold up to that kind of use.

I'm kind of enamored with this guy. if I could pocket carry a fb in Cali I might give it a shot. what's the thickness? IMO the izula would be much more attractive as a carry knife if it was thinner. its thickness is the main drawback for me.

I don't really understand the FAIL here. If the Izula was perfect, fine that's great. Why should the Candiru be a copy of the Izula. I like both. They fill different roles.

if it was meant to be a smaller izula then they wouldn't have called it a candiru it would have been izula 0.5

Everyone's hands are a different size so why do you expect one knife to fit all. If I do not like the fit I change the scales
