:eek:OH my gosh and I though waiting for presents on Christmas &
Birthdays was HARD!!! Then we get a letter from Auntie Yangdu..... the two items
we had special ordered a while back had arrived, and were ready for
a new home~! Needless to say, Ed sat and waited for the PO to open
each day (even though I told Ed that it would not get here
overnight).....:D

But now He his doing the "Happy Dance"..... (I would be except the
neck pain has other plans it seems for breakfast) Now he has a almost
matched set of Everest Katanas...... The one he got from the WONDERFUL
Abaniko, and the Custom Made One that just arrived here in NYS this
Morning. He had asked Yangdu about one a WHILE back, and was
surprised when a note arrived in the email that it had arrived in NV,
along with the Custom Lil' Rusty SD Ed had asked to be made as a
special Yule gift for myself.

They are both BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

The Katana has the Perfect curve, The tsuba has two dragons carved
on it, the handle is a slightly flatted-out octagon made of US Wange
Wood and is VERY comfortable in the hands....even for myself... and it
is very well balanced. IMHO the sharpness is fine...... it is made by Bura
The Royal Kami

The Lil' Rusty SD..... what can I say.... I Love her!!! The handle is a
carved Satisal wood and fits perfectly in my hand. The blade had a
fine taper to the tip. What I also was happy to see that Rustys' name is
on the blade!! Over all this will be an addition to both my altar, as well
as a carry knife at the Renn Faire. It may also in time be set up to be
worn in an "inconspicuous" manner under my skirts for those times
when you just might need "back-up" Th Lil' Rusty SD was made by Lok
Bhadur Kami.

I'm sure Ed will add a lil' something later on after he is done holding his
new baby!

Blessed Be!
Willow

Those are wonderful, Willow:)
Thanks for the pics. Those Everest Katana's are very special pieces of art and steel...wow:thumbup:

The SD, She is a gem. That's the nicest handle I've seen of any, and I can almost scry in the black with white striated horn handle of mine.

Great to hear you folks are smiling:D

Congratulations!
I'm sure you will all be very happy together. ;):D

I am coveting SGs more and more lately. I am now inspired to try to special order an HI Scottish set with a matching Dirk- once I have some capital to work with. :o

Awesome carving on the Rusty. It's proportions look great... truly a unique knife to be treasured.

Talking of handles, the grip on the Katana looks A1 too! The sori of the blade is so pleasing to behold I can only imagine how sweet it would be to swing. :D

The way you have labeled the photo's will make identification for new-comers so easy when they are posted in the HI photo thread.

Thanks All for the Kind words!
It was way cool that We, of the HI Family, can admire each other's Blades, and sometimes get ideas for "Custom Pieces" from Yangdu and The Kamis.

What I am Still trying to figure out is: How did Auntie Yangdu Know which Handle I would choose for the Katana?
I do not recall ever even mentioning that my Favorite Handle color is Exactly what came on the Katana.
Amazing I say!!
Ed
