I'll try to post some pics later, but this is one of the few days that I can't wait for it to be dark.

I ordered the new Fenix E05 SS from Fenix-Gear.com and I'm pretty impressed. It's an AAA single cell flashlight that has enough heft to ride in my pocket. It's really just a touch heavy for the keychain, at least for me.

It's a three setting, head twisty light, with a low of 8 lumens, and a high of 85. It starts on low and you work your way up, which is good enough for me. Starting out at the brightest setting in the dark isn't the easiest on the eyes or the battery, especially when an 8 lumen setting for walking the dog is plenty good enough.

Delivered to my door in just two days for $29.95. It's a good light worthy of a look if you're in the market for a small EDC light.

The E05 in black has been on my keys for what feels like years. Super reliable, hard to beat IMO. I gotta check out the SS version.

Looks nice, and the three outputs is cool. Stainless is a little heavy, though.

Got mine today. A touch heavier than the aluminum lights I'm used to, but hopefully it'll hold up better on my keychain. My previous light is down to bare metal. (Black ano wore off)

How does this light compare to the LD01? I have a stainless version of the LD01 that I have carried for a few years. I think it was a special Christmas edition or something. I love the thing, I have been eyeing the E05SS awful hard, though.

My E05SS is replacing my L0D which was the predecessor of the LD01. It's about the same diameter, quite a bit shorter, and feels distinctly heavier. Significantly brighter than the L0D. The LD01 would fall between the two.

Only complaint so far is that the machining leaves it a tiny bit sharp where the slots meet the knurling and at the tail, nothing a little carry won't fix.

Wow, I have been impressed with the Olight i3 EOS which is in the same category, with half the weight. But, it's .5/20/80 lumens and this bumps that low 'moonlight' up to 8. Most importantly, there's no coating or finish to wear-off. You could get it bead-blasted matte, too.

I drunk-purchased the E05 Stainless the other day. Pretty nice. Very well constructed, and I like where the brightness levels are. It won't replace the Preon Revo stainless on my keychain though. I'm a bit disappointed in the plastic lens, but I guess I can't be too upset, given the price.

For those who care, the aluminum version of this light (2014, 3 output) has been released, and weighs half as much as the stainless. Better knurling too, IMO. Link.

Now that's the way the E05 SS should be. With the jimping up top.

I'm partial to the Fenix lights as they seem to match my wallet and requirements. Though the 05 is a good itty bitty light my preference for EDC is the LD12. I'm on my 3rd one now. If they would manufacture them in traffic orange, green or yellow I'd probably still be on my first one.
