This one came from the list that Joe Houser sent out. It has some really nice looking wood in my opinion, plus you just couldn't beat the price.

It looks great to me, the little knot hole to me, gives it character. I got one and I was surprised by the weight of the knife. I also like the sheath, heavy brown leather, it fit the knife.

If the price on the web special page was $115, I wonder what the orginal price was?

The price on the close out list was even better at $75. Of course there was tax and shipping on them, but still a steal I think.

Exceptional ironwood. Congrats on a great deal.

Peter

Thanks, I particularly like this one. I have another from the same bunch, but the wood on it is a lot darker and doesn't have the highlights that this one does.

Thanks a whole lot guys...this thread just inspired me to lose my focus on buying 110s and I just pulled the trigger on an ironwood Kalinga. I've always wanted a Kalinga as a user and I guess this will be it! Thanks again...

The 'Web Special' price is still $115. I didn't get the 'closeout list'. Where is it published?

Stainz

Somebody has to send you the list Stainz.
It didn't go out to everyone in the BCCI like "the story" said it was supposed too.
Anyway PlumDave sent it to me and he got it from another guy and so it went...
PM me and with your email and I'll send you the list.
I think that all of it goes on public sale tomorrow and they are not taking any more orders from list call ins. But if you'd like to look at it or try anyway, I'll send it to you. g

You have to say it slow Kaaa-LeeeN-Gaaaa
Makes a fella wish for the Wilds of Africa like they were about 125 years ago.

My little herd and I'll bet all ya'll can guess my favorite...the one I'll grab first everytime?
Top to Bottom: Ironwood-420HC, Pro-S30V, Micarta-440C, & Buffalo-420HC
BTW, the $75 Ironwood was the cheapest. The $120 Buffalo I bought from an Idaho man and forumite was the most expensive (this is not a gripe, just an observation:))

I know my favorite would be the vintage one with the micarta and 3 pins.

I proudly have one along with a micarta Akonua.

I just like the tapered guard look better than the more recent ones or the "new" design. But that is JUST me:D

Peter

Correct Peter, I do favor the 70s micarta knife.
I have the Akouna in rosewood from the early 80s but haven't found a micarta one yet to go with its big brother.

To be honest I need to narrow my collecting interests but I don't really want too.

You know Gordon, you do need to narrow it down. You could start by eliminating the 532's from your collection. :D

What, you two like these ones?? They're just some old laminated wood discontinued knives with some old discontinued blade steel. You guy don't really want these do ya?? How about something brand new and shiny from China??
