I don't think that John posted this over here and figured that it was too nice just to leave over on his forum !;)

This is the Johns idea of a survival knife set up, a no frills solid knife that is easy to carry yet still large enough to get jobs done should the unexpected happen. The first thing that struck me was how it is similar to the Charles May OSK which was the result of a team of survival nuts putting their thoughts together as to what they deemed a perfect survival knife.
I might be wrong but I'd imagine if we all had to decide on an agreed size and shape we would likely come up with something pretty similar as well !

The knife is 9" overall, 4 1/2" long blade, 1 1/2" tall, and 3/16" thick O1with a strong spearpoint blade. It comes complete with John's newest sheath design.

IMO teamed up with a SAK this would be a sweet combo !

What d'ya think ?

But it doesn't have a sawback, skull-crusher pommel, recurve, tanto point, bowdrill divot or a bottle opener. Must not be very good. How is somebody supposed to "survive" with that thing?

Forget all that...where's the bottle opener!

i think he also forgot the 911 emergency button...other than that it looks great! im digging the handles

Jokes aside, I love that knife. That's what a "survival knife" SHOULD look like. That thing is close to perfect. No bells, no whistles, just a solid, well-thought-out design. I love the sheath too.

Well, it doesn't need bells and whistles that's what the pouch is for :p

All kidding aside, it looks awesome.

Nice! Sorta reminds me of my new guy, but with thicker/wider handles and a shorter and taller blade:

That's a nice sheath too!

stomper that first one could be bottle opener/belt cutter! or the other tiny one....both cool!

Looks like a perfect knife/sheath combo. The sheath looks like it would ride nice and high too.
