Has anybody actually seen one at a brick-and-mortar?

If someone has I've got to quick change my christmas list.

REI Coop has the part-serrated only models in their stores (and online). Unfortunately, they are in clam packs and can't be easily handled. They appear to be well fitted and finished. However, I did not ask to handle any. Perhaps they will bust one out for you to examine.

Leatherman has my respect. Their factory is 25 miles from me. Tim Leatherman went to the same university, OSU, my son attends. Mechanical Engineers routinely tour his shop to see how it is done. The tool/knives look different. The blade geometry appeals to me. But, I don't have much use for small driver bits. The uniqueness appeals to me. The name is good.

If you get one please report back ASAP.:D

I saw one yesterday at Gander Mountain.. it was in the plastic.. but I could tell it was a little thick.. about the depth of a multitool. Price was $79... didn't feel like taking my chances.. but it did look like a nice knife err.. tool..

SlimWhitman: the Gander where I went didn't have the price either.. but I had them scan it. Where are you located?

I saw them at EMS a week or so ago, they had one in their knife case so you could handle it. (i dont remember which model they had). My impression was that the handle was very fat and the blade short. IMHO, it was oddly proportioned, i was disappointed as i went in with the intention of picking one up. oh well, went with a rittergrip instead (not from EMS).

I go to the one in henrietta. I went back a week later and all of the 306 were gone.:(

Dick's sporting goods has them. Not bad looking knives at all, and decently priced. I almost bought one yesterday (and a Buck 119), but didn't like the idea of a new sharp toy after having had a few beers at lunch. I may take a closer (sober) look at them next time I'm around.

Up in the frozen north, my local store has them. Price for the Large Knife is about $89.00 Canadian. It's well made, but somewhat thick. I'd take one though :D

I like the look of the k502x because it has all the tools hat I use the most on my wave, except it is a lockback, which I don't like. so I'll settle for the k306x.
