Noticed this has just become available, looks pretty cool, wonder how it would compare to a Khukri or Machete as a survival tool ?

One thing I'm not too sure of is the agressive handle shape !

Don't use big knives much anymore, but I like Lofty and that thing looks cool.

Looks like a Becker design to me.

Definitely looks like both the Machax and the Brute.

The handle has way too much going on IMO, but I dig the blade shape. I'd bet its a beast of a chopper with the bolo-type blade and that taper.

:EDIT: In the specs on the website, it says that it has a "single bevel grind". Does that mean it's a scandi grind? If so, that's pretty freakin cool I think:thumbup:

Love the blade shape, but not too sure about the handle. I would have preferred something less fussy, without all the finger grooves. Then again, I won't know until I try it.

I'd love to try that out, looks like a tactical Panga...whats the pricepoint?

*about 300 US, I'll let someone else try this one out...anytime something gets above 200 dollars for a bush knife I get sketchy.

look at the taper on the blade, very end heavy, very good in my book for what it is to be used for! I want one!

I love the blade design. I agree with the handle being way to busy, but like the description about mutiple hand placement for lighter work. That tapered tang is sweet.

Very, very similar to the Puma 3588, which is actually a poor chopper. I have used mine and compared it against a Buuse BM e, Sibert Particle Accelerator, Fallkniven Tor, CS Trailmaster, and several other knives in the same size. It came in dead last, which suprised me. The Puma also has the reverse distal taper.

Give it a little while. I'm sure it will show up on "Man, Woman, Wild."

Looks cool but the handle looks like you'd love it or hate it.

You are 100% right - the handle and blade is of Indonesian origin with a few tweaks. The prototype Jungle Machete for the British Special Forces is similar in blade but certainly different in handle.

I strongly suggest that you try the handle before you buy and it will either attache itself to you or you will hate it.
