The new Rat 2's are available!

smaller less material used to make it you think the price would be lower then the orginal but its the same.

Yeah I found that a little odd myself, but it's still an amazing value.

Yea, i think there is more competition for the rat 2 then there is the rat 1 just considering there isnt many bigger folders of good value but there are a few 3 inch ones.

You're still paying for the labor that goes into making them, and possibly new equipment. Expect the price to go down a little bit over time.

Can't say that I agree with that. I'm finding a lot of knives that I want, just to find that they're slightly over 3". It's pretty frustrating that most high end folders seem to be that way.

In that range in the sub 30 you got the hk ally cold steel tuff lite kershaw clash hk mini pika 2, there are a good amount of others,

It's a good price, and the RAT is a lot of knife for the price.

If this had been two months ago, I might have ordered one.

But the Izula folder is supposed to come out some time this year.

So we'll see...

I believe that Ontario is producing them for their own product line. They have no affiliation with ESEE.

Looks to be a very nice size. The AUS-8 is good stuff, and the overall F&F of the RAT has impressed me a great deal, at that price point one could do a lot worse. They really give other entry level, modern folders like the Spyderco Tenacious, as well as the KA-BAR Bob Dozier a run for their money. I do believe a stonewashed blade would have been a welcomed "upgrade" though. Still it's a solid choice nonetheless.

Knifecenter is a paid dealer here...feel free to link directly to the page.

I looked all over and could not find the link.
2.3 OZ less weight
