Hi all!

I've finally managed to complete the new blacksmith shop! There are still a few odds and ends that I will complete as I go along, but otherwise it's ready to work. I've posted a small pictorial tour over on my forum at the CKD. There were too many photos for one post, so I had to make three. Please feel free to take a look. I'm looking forward to many good times in the new place!

That is a fantastic set-up you have there, Ed. It definately fits into what I'd qualify as a "dream" shop. Obviously a lot of thought and effort went into it. Very nice job. I'd like to come down and see it personally one day.

Wow, awesome smithy shop Ed!!!
I love the chop saw set up, especially the stock support, that is a grand idea, and I agree with the roll around capabilities, everything in my shop is on wheels, lol.
What size metal do you cut with that nibbler shear thats hanging on the wall and does it distort the metal as it cuts it or does it pretty much stay flat?
Now all you need is a video camera and you can share your knowledge with us morons!
Sure am happy you're back home safe, Ed!!

Congratulations, Ed! Your shop really is great, and functional to the max. What's that like, having room to move around in the middle of the shop, anyhow? Heck, you have enough room there to have a pile of stuff too tall to see over!

L6: The shears you see hanging are suppose to cut up to 18 gauge, however, they easily cut 1/8" mild steel. The cut is really good with them, but you have to allow about 3/8" for the cut (they take out a "ribbon" about 3/8" wide when making a cut)

All the "left over" room was the price I had to pay for the new shop......my darling wife agreed to the new shop, ONLY if there would be room in it to park her car on those cold snowy nights! ;)
I suspect it will take only a short time before I'm climbing over stuff to get from one end of the shop to the other.

Ed, thanks much for posting the pictures. Don' worry, the amount of 'stuff' accumulated always expands to fill the space available.
BTW, thanks for posting Custom Knife site. I had lost the address and missed the hints, especially in Tool Time and Sheath Making.
Shop envying, Lynn

Good on ya! Now, get to making more of those awesome knives. Just because you are retired from our Nation's Military, doesnt mean you can sit around. ;) :)

Thats a sweet new shop Ed! I can see allot of time spent there and some awesome projects as the results. Congrats!
