The "New" WSSI... cheap name rip-off

Yesterday I went to Google to look for WSSI (Wood Stabilization Specialists, Int'l LLC). I have some wood I recently purchased that I wanted to get stabilized. Having done this search successfully before, I fully expected the first entry on the list to be the right one.

What I got back instead was a screen full of links to Wood Stabilization Solutions, Int'l LLC.

If you check into it, this company has an address in Ione, CA (as opposed to Ionia, IA). Clearly they know how to escalate their presence on the search engines.

Strikes me as a cheap rip off. I know, nothing illegal here... but did they really have to try so hard to undermine the existing company's web presence?

When I first started doing my own stabilizing I got a stabilizing system from them.
It worked pretty good but later I found I could have K&G do all my stabilizing and I could focus on what I like to do. Find cool wood.
Last time I looked it showed me as one of the users of their system. Please do not take that as an endorsement or anything from me.

Back when I dealt with him, he was going by Ironwood forge.
Some of you might remember him from here on the forum.

I noticed the name change about a year ago.

It's not a name change, Mark. It's a different company. The real WSSI still exixts. I just sent them some more wood today.

I think Mark is talking about the company out in CA. He used to be called "Ironwood Forge" before he switched to his "Solutions" name, which closely resembles WSSI. I still have that Res90 sittin in the fridge out in the shop he sent me for free. L

There are three WSSI companies. The one you came across sells equipment systems. Mike and most of the folks around know about this. There was a thread a few months ago about it, too.
No one is ripping anyone off.

Hey does anyone know if this company does any wood stabilization? Ione is only about 30 minutes from me, and if I can get stuff professionally done that close to home that would be great.
