Matsui is a beast! What a feeling it must be to win your team (esp yanks) the world series, while getting paid millions to boot. Im not a fan of the Yanks but I cant help but be happy for any team when I see em go all the way.

Congrats you studs!
 
While I really like Jeter, Damon, Swisher, Mo, and a ton of other Yanks... I really, AND I MEAN REALLY wanted to see the Dodgers face the Yanks in this WS and win it in seven with a blown Yankee managerial call being the difference in game seven. I wanted to see Torre poke Girardi square in the eye and stroll out on the field afterwards to give one of "those" hugs. You know with the man tap to the back and the whispered "gotcha" in the ear. Oh man! That would have rocked!

But congrats yanks. Quite possibly the best yankee team since the twenties. Could be a shade better even. Let's see how they treat Damon however. One of the reasons folks out here in flyover country hate the Yankees is because of the way they treat players. Look at what they did to Bernie. A non-roster invitee to spring training with a non-guaranteed minor league contract worth the league min?? WTF? All while giving Posada a big deal when he was about to go under the knife? Who runs that chickensh*t outfit anyhow??

Again, sincere congrats to the damn yanks. :)
 
Most all teams treat players the same way, it's just that the Yankees are on the biggest stage. As a long time Yankee fan, I have no love for Joe Torre, who sat on the bench sipping green tea for the last 5 years of his Yankee manager time. Should have been fired after the 2004 season. And then writes a "tell all" book after the Yankees had paid him more than any other mgr. Not too classy, I think.
But bottom line is, the Yankees have won the WS, shutting the mouths of the arrogant Phillies who said it would be easy to beat the Yanks in 5 games.

I'm a Red Sox fan, but I have to offer congratulations. They were the best team in the league from the All Star game on. The Phillies pitching was just too shaky and the Yankees shut down their hitting (except for Utley).

Pitchers and Catchers report in about 15 weeks!
 
Finally we can get to the real sports, football and hockey.

I root for two teams... the Red Sox and who ever is playing against the yankees (yes, thats "yankees" with a lower case 'y').
 
I am a NY fan and my GF is a Philly fan. Twas a grand time in my house since sunday with the Giants getting trashed by the Eagles and then the Yankee's winning the World Series. I am Happy they won, other than Utley and Lee I didnt see much from the rest of the team. I am happy that Howard broke the Strike out record last night :D

the news has a story about how he stopped to help a woman who had crashed on the way home from the game

he is a good guy
 
I agree, it was nice to see the yankees win since the rockies were put out of their misery early.
