Well, my Mircrotech Socom Delta got here today. And after putting a lanyard and some froglube on it, I decided I'd post some pics. So here they are.

As You can see, blade centring isn't perfect, but it doesn't touch the liners. (If anyone know's how to fix, I would appreciate it)

About 50% lock-up.

Almost, perfectly symmetrical grind.

Born 12/2013, ATS-34 Steel.

Knife is solid as a rock, no play at all. And very smooth, which I'm sure will improve with a little wear in. The detent is crazy strong! Love it so far, and I'm looking forward to trying ATS-34. Let me know what you guys think.

The centering on my G-10 model, was an easy fix. The blade pivot screw just needed a very slight bit of tweaking and it was dead on. Takes a T30 bit. (the handle screws had no effect at all, on centering) The smoothness is probably not going to change, as it's got a ceramic bearing system.

Nice pickup:thumbup:

The pivot is probably just over tightened a little bit. It looks like if you loosen it a hair, the pressure of the lockbar will force it into the right spot.

Do you know if there's a pivot bushing in that knife?

Ceramic bearings I believe.

Very nice blade. I've got a Zombie Socom Delta and I love it. :)
Also exactly what Jill Jackson said a TX-30 will do ya.

Congratulations!!

I always love the looks of the Socoms. Perfect aesthetics for tactical knife. Had an Elite for a little bit and was thoroughly impressed. Sharp and sturdy while being extremely light for it's size. I almost chomped on my thumb while closing it a couple of times because of the heavy blade paired with the super smooth bearings. That blade would launch out like a rocket if you got it going. The tip down worked well on it but that is not my preference. Perhaps a Delta is in my future.

A quick pivot adjustment and the blade is perfectly cetred now. And still no detectable blade play. Also, even smoother now.

One thing I noticed, is that the detent is insanely strong, makes flipping the knife out of the handle almost impossible. Anyone know of a possible solution?

The Delta is currently one of my favorites. Great knife and very versatile. Mine is the black partially serrated tanto with alum scales. Really digging it! I'd be curious as to your thoughts on the ATS steel. Have you sharpened it yet? I have D2 in mine which has performed well in the short time that I've had it. Congrats man - beautiful knife! I'm hoping MT will do a run of clip points as I'd love to pick one of those up too.

No experience with ATS-34 yet. Though from a video I saw, the way M-Tech does it, it holds an edge for an insanely long time.

Here's the video if anyone is interested. Ya, it's Russian.
