.. Treating yourself to a new Custom belt Sheath to hold your Slipjoints in,, that's What!!.:D

As per usual, I spent waaaayy to much $$$$ this year on the family for Christmas.. Leaving nothing, or little to nothing, left over for yours truly to go out and get a knew knife with.

Well, I saw a thread here in Traditional authored by Gary W. Graley, aka: G2, where his uncle made him an early Christmas gift of a beautiful Stag largish NKCA Queen folder(An EE as I recall?). As I read through and enjoying the thread as I went, I learned that G2 is an accomplished leather worker and proceeded to build himself a Custom Belt Sheath for that knife. I took a liking to his handiwork so much so, that I requested one to be built for one of my 4 1/4 inch Case XX Trapper's that I carry on nearly every occasion and thought I would show you all a peak at it since Gary finished up early and sent me several photo's..

Gary is a super fellow and quite the Craftsman and I can't wait to try out my old Trapper in my new Custom G2 Belt Sheath..

Thanks in advance Gary for a great job!!.:)

Thanks Sunnyd and neeman, it'll be heading home on Monday on my way to the airport!
Nice knife too, I've not handled one like that and was surprised at how well
the blades were ground, fairly thin, I can see what you like about that!

That looks great Sunny... Funny, after I read the same post, I got to wondering about one for a full size trapper. I have a few?, but don't carry them because they are a little large in the pocket, but they do fit the hand nice.... Very nice work Gary. I still may have to contact you about doing one for a trapper.

Gary made me a nice belt sheath, similar to that one, for a William Henry knife.

Trouble is, I prefer something just a little more folksy on my belt.
Turns out that that sheath is also a perfect fit for a custom Terry Davis that I happen to own.:D

Very nice , Sunny!

I also have a nice sheath which Gary made for my Reese Bose Sowbelly (#6).

Thanks guys and Shaldag have a pic of that knife that fits that sheath?
like to take a look at that rascal !

This is exactly the reason why I opt for a belt sheath these days for any slippy north of 4 inches. It carries so much more comfortably and you have all the knife handle and extra blade you need for cutt'n, and for a guy with big clumsy mitts like mine..:D

Can't wait to get it..

Thanks Again Gary!.

That is a nice sheath. Where did you get that stamp??

I picked this up a long time ago at a leather craft store, it just says 27
near the end of the handle, I just checked Tandy but didn't find anything
quite like it. I have a few that I've picked up over the years that are
not seen any where else, a cross type embossing and an indian head which
looks like the old wooden nickels, like I used on this Buck 110 sheath that
I made for myself a while back;

Nice knife too!

Another great looking G2 sheath going to a lucky guy! I caught myself just staring at the images of it.

Thanks Kerry, it has very nice retention, the way I explain to folks when they
go to return the knife, is to start the knife into the sheath, then reach down
with their ring finger and grip the bottom of the sheath and then squeeze it the
rest of the way in with your thumb, has a nice thunk when it seats into place.
