Sounds great, but this time could you make the question something we with slower modems might have a chance at? The last one was a contest between T1 people (or whatever they call it). We 14.4k guys didn't stand a chance.

Bill,

Glad to see that I'm not alone with a slow modem. Despite having a 56k unit, being here in the boonies with the old copper twisted wire and too many A-D converters in line makes 26.4k about the best I see. Oh well

I'll have to admit that the line is not my problem...I have a slow connection elsewhere.

26.4 on a 56K modem? That is definitely a bummer. I'm sorry to hear that. I get 48K max. I have DSL (768/128) on order and I will get it in 2 1/2 weeks - definitely looking forward to that.

When you get out in the boonies, as some of us like, copper twisted pair is all you can get. I have a 56.6 and can usually sign-on at 24000 max. Except for one day I had to "ping" the line to check. Just wish I could sign on at that speed all the time. Made the T-1 line at work look slow.

I wish he would ask a question I knew the answer to, like: who made the knife in Night Of The Grizzley? Or who made the knives in Jeremiah Johnson? I know, all you knife knuts know the answers to those questions too, but atleast I could say, "Yeah, I knew the answers!" Take care knifeknuts!!! Michael
