I just couldn't resist.
I took a few shots before I hardened this blade and while it's cooling off in the tank and getting ready for temper, I'll take this opportunity to toss this up here.
This is the second Cru Forge V knife I'll be making and HOPEFULLY have done to take to the Branson Hammer-in.
I have either one or two demos to do while I'm there, so that means I need to get another knife done as well by next Friday.
So, I can only hope I'll have this one to take along.
It'll get one of those two Stag tapers and some twisted wrought iron hardware.

This one rocks Karl - looking forward to the finished piece. I like the idea of twisted wrought for the fittings.

Cru Forge V.
It's not uncommon that I get distinct "zones" for I guess what we'll call quench "scale" when I am after hard edge and soft spine.
But I'll admit that I don't really recall the effect being so distinct and discernable. Almost as if there is a gradual layering of hardness from edge to spine as shown in the different "zones" of quench effect.
This is one of those blades that should be broken in half and sent off for serious testing.
I get similar results from file testing as I did the hunter I just finished.
She's in temper now, so I'll look at it more closely tomorrow.
Fun stuff!

Karl I like the blade just like that:D smack the handle on it. One of my favorite blade shapes that I have seen of yours:thumbup:

I'm with Joe. I really like that continuous curve along the edge, I'll bet it's gonna slice like a mother. Good comp design I'd bet.
