I was in Tokyo for business, and decided that I would get up at 4am and go to the market. It was only 3 subway stops from my hotel so it was a relatively easy trip. It was a very cool experience. We were able to walk around the market, and we did walk into the halls with the whole tuna, but we were quickly ushered out as that area is for buyers only. They had walkways between the halls where people could walk and look, but the hall itself was off limits
I have never seen so many varieties of sea food, and I grew up on the east coast, and worked in the fishing industry when I was younger to make money during high school and university.
And then watching the guys cut up that tuna with those knives was pretty cool.
I have a lot more pictures from the market that I can post if others are interested.
