Took me a good 15mins to pound it home but
*NO* Ping - Snap, only mashed where I pounded on it and didn't chip the point.
I suppose it will stand up to normal use.
No it's not Aluminum it is 1/8 steel plate.
Drew a crowd of neighbors as I pounded it on the blacktop. Now they know I'm crazy:p
This one is made from 1/4" O1 but the plans are for 3/16 & 1/4" ATS34 depending on the blade.
Kydex or Concealex sheaths.
If anyone makes it to the AKCA knife show here in AZ on the 20-21st it will be on my table.
Let me know what you think.

Wow, tough knife. I know that the tip would not pierce a 1/4" steel plate, but are you thinking of doing something like this with a spear point?

the reason i ask is that if its a chiel grind you have a left hand model. in japanese culinary blades the flat is on the inside of the body. like those emerson CQC chisel grinds will roll over when cutting because the grind is on the inside so it looks cool  to a right hander. imo it does'nt matter that they are"tactical" you have better control with the flat on the inside. i like the knife, tell us some spec's

Robert, that's impressive! You know, people spend lots of time and money to come up with the "right" logo. Assuming you keep this sort of performance in your knives, I think a "sketched" version of picture # 2 would make a great logo. Just a thought.

Also, have you considered an integral guard of some sort in front of the index finger notch? Again, just a thought. Its a good looking knife.

Did anyone mention that you also need thick skin to be a maker?

Ours don't question why -- at least anyway, the ones that surviving.

Good suggestion Steve,
I just reconfigured the design.
Added a integral gaurd and a spear point.

Next debate is Flat or Hollow grind on the edge:confused:
Point will stay with the convex grind for strength. False edge will get a slight Convex for penetration while maintaining the strength integrity.

Current guard is only a half gaurd, I will do one in wider material with a full integral gaurd.

Your design drawings are welcome!!!!
Email them to me.

If it makes sense I will incorporate them and give credit for the ideas every time one is sold or a pic is posted.

no debate here robert, flat grind. total VEE grind. its my second favorite to convex. for the kick ass strength your after hollows wont cut it!
