Just about an hour ago postman delivered a package on my workplace. Opening it there was this Hohner - box inside and opening it I found this:

The knife is a Schrade Walden in a very good condition. The blades open with a good snap, blades are sharp (just a touch up might be needed). I really like bone handles and the size is just right for pocket, not too small, not too big. Main blade is 70 mm, pen blade 50 mm. There is no sideways blade play.

I am really touched by this gesture and I am honour-bound to return this favor. I did not ask if the forumite want's to be mentioned, so it is his choise. Anyway my warmest thank's for this gift! I will put this in my pocket when I leave the work and when I go walking in the forest with my son's dog and my wife.

There are good people on this forum.

That's a sweetheart of a jack knife, congrats!
Kudo's to whomever sent it to you as well. You're right, this place is indeed special and an oasis of great folks and terrific knives

Cheers,
Griff

Beauty! I love that front bolster, real nice looking knife

Very nice! A beautiful knife and a wonderful and kind gesture to the Sender of this awesome gift.

The OP is right. The people here are amazing.

A kind and generous individual here sent me a Case Peanut upon finding out that I did not yet have one. A gorgeous deep red jigged bone that has not left my pocket since I received it. Oddly enough, I had never been gifted a knife by anyone other than my Dad (when I was a child, and I am 61 now) so this gesture truly struck home.

I plan to pay it forward with a nice GAW (but not THAT particular knife ;) ) when I reach 1000 posts. Great people on this forum, indeed. :)

I have been on more forums than I can count since the late 90's, mostly car and dirt bike forums, but I have never found another one like the regulars here on the traditional side of this forum. Some great people here to say the least! Congrats on the knife that is a beauty for sure and I wouldn't be able to put that one down for days lol.

Great gesture and fortunate recipient! I feel fortunate to have found this place. I have been gifted some knives and tons of knowledge in the short time I've been around. An oasis for sure.

That's a great gift.

I was drawn into the traditional forum by another member or two. I asked a question about GEC, and a member sent me an example to get me hooked.

I think I know who sent it...... Very nice gift from a great contributor to this forum. Almost everyone who hangs out here has had a run in with the amazing generosity of another on this forum. It's infectious. Great looking knife!

What a nice Jack Knife!!! great on whomever is the sender.

Glad it went to someone like yourself that really appreciates it---use it in good health---best place on the net!!!

So far I have found mostly everyone on here to be a good person and extremely friendly. That may be just because that we all know that everyone on here has the same problem (addiction to knives). The forum can be a therapy for such an addiction. (You would not expect your therapist to be a jerk). No but seriously this forum has been great and there are many nice and helpful people. I just started making knives and I met a guy who is a Custom maker who happens to live 10-15 minutes away from me. He gladly invited me to come down to his shop and he could show me a few things if I needed help.

I am convinced that there is no finer group of people than our community. What a great show of generosity.
Congrats to you. That is a beautiful knife and of course it's my favorite blade steel. It will last several lifetimes.
