To those who were willing to step up and help make a little positive difference happen... I thank you and will not forget all of you who reached out via Thread, PM, or Email with the single thought to HELP. YOU GUYS ROCK. A lot of you stepped up, and I truly believed that before I was reminded of BladeForums policy, and the project closed down with my appeal denied, that we would have easily met the modest goal I was reaching for with this small project.
With that knowledge in mind, I heartily urge you to still donate the funds that you wanted to send to me, just only now to an organization near or dear to you and your family... ANY charitable Org. would be cool. YOU can STILL make a positive change HAPPEN. I, for one, am planning to donate the full thousand to a few, myself, so BE PROUD THAT YOU CARE!!! I care too. :thumbup: Don't let ANYONE discourage you from that. :thumbup:

You were just trying to make something good arise HERE from something bad that arose HERE.


I will donate my pledge to something similar in my area, and hope others will also.


PS- Legit question- Can we still solicite funds to bump someone up to Gold or Plat here on BF???

edit- BTW I think its fine to help bump someone up to gold or plat...sent a few bucks today. Don't won't anyone to think I am against it because of the above question.
 
So I'm guessing the "Let's buy X a BF membership" solicitations are BF approved?
 
I don't know, guys... You'd have to ask Spark. I wanted to bring that up, but I sure didn't want to lose that um... exception for all here, especially since I'm guilty of that too. LOL :o
 
Thaks man for making a generous effort. It is what you do on your own that counts and I know that many here will still do the right thing

Mrs. OP and I have always given. We're a fortunate couple and we love to spread some of that fortune around.

We'll donate a bit (maybe two bits!:) ) locally to an appropriate organization.

And there is no need for this comment. There was no "Bad apple" that stopped the fundraiser, it is just against BF policy.

Jaxx posted an update and there is no need for additional comment


This really should be in community since it is not directly related to Busse knives. We do let a lot of non-knife threads go in this forum but it may have to stop if every one of them is going to turn into a fight or argument.

I'm locking this, and it is staying locked.

We appreciate the update but I don't want to see this thread turning negative.

While this will remain locked I did want to make sure that Jaxx's announcement was seen by all interested parties.

I'm bumping his announcement to the top so that anyone that was planning to participate can see this thread.
