I've always been a folder man but after lurking this forum I took the plunge and bought my 1st ever fixed blade and let a RAT into my family...

I knew the RC-3 MIL was numbered but... I wasn't expecting this !

Wonder if God's trying to tell me something...

666? Cool!

Welcome there are are a lot of really great people here with a wealth of knowledge and experience. ENJOY!

I have the same knife, my only RAT so far but it's the only knife I touch when camping, and I EDC it, in some form or another, every day.

OH! don't for get to read the stickies if you haven't already. (good stuff to be found :D)

Well I only recently started going back to church after an absence of 10+ years and the firs fixed blade I buy has the serial no. 0666 heh... things that make me go "hmmm" :)

That said this is a nice knife, I've been using a Spyderco Paramilitary as my primary blade for the last couple of years, so the RC-3 fits my usage very well, light hiking, utllitarian camp knife but also capable of much more for those unexpected situations. I know a fix blade is more reliable then a folder. So for me it was a toss up between a Fallkniven and RAT.

RAT was my choice -thanks to all the positive feedback on this forum board, the warranty and price point, plus it's a good functional no nonsense design with great carry options. Very nice package.

Well I've got to say it's definitely got me thinking about an RC-4 as a heavier duty knife, if anyone hasn't seen Noss' destruction test of an RC-4 on Youtube, it held up really well! I'll probably go for Orange G-10 handles, one of the reasons I picked the MIL was because of the Canvas Micarta, never had a knife with that material handle and I was curious. My curiousity has been satisfied. I could be wrong but I'm thinking the G-10 will wear better in the long run.

The rest of my blade family:

I'd take it ... I dont mind 666 or 777 or 13 or whatever , to me that blade is great I would not ruin the serial number over fear

thats awesome. i wish my blade number was that cool. i mean, i think mine is like 5375 or something. that just tells you how many RAT izulas they have made. i want another RAT now though. you all make me jealous.

mine doesnt have a number how come?

It's probably not an RC-3MIL, most likely an RC-3 with a standard pommel. Those don't have serial numbers.
