Yup, I went to the show. It was pretty good.

I MET DON HANSON III !!

We stood around and BS'ed a while, and yes... he's as much a gentleman and a good guy in person, as he is in ShopTalk. One thing is for certain, he is a great knifemaker. His knives were very nice.

I was hoping to meet some other folks from ShopTalk there too. I totally expected to see J. Neilson there. I also kept scanning the crowd for familiar faces but saw none.

I met Steve Licata. Pretty talented fella. He has a vision, and by golly, all his work looks the same. Nice work, but dark and spooky.

Dr. Dave Darom was there signing his new book.

I bought some sweet mother-of-pearl. Ric Chopra was selling all his pearl for half-price at the show only. I stocked up.

After the show, Patrick and I went to the pub and drank Guinness pints until the evening. All that washed down with some Glenfiddich, and needless to say I was paying dearly for it come Sunday morning. All in all, it was a decent time in Metropolis!

Hey higgy,
It was a pleasure meeting you and your son at the show. You're alright, no matter what they say around here :) Thanks for the tip on Ferric a while back.

Don, we can not be talking about the same Higgy that I know???? :D He didn't do anything stupid like falling down the stairs drunk??? HEHEHE!!! ;) :D

That sounds like a great time! Someday I'm gonna get to meet a few of you "fine gentlemen" in person too. Maybe even IG!

I keep arguing with myself whether to buy Darom's book. What do you think Jeff? Worth the $65? I really want it but too cheap to just spring for it. You decide for me: Yes or No.

By the way IG, I did get my copy of The Art of American Arms... Zowie! Thanks for the headsup.

Hey Jeff, sounds like you guys had a great time. I wish I could have made it there. Maybe in the fall I'll pack Tess and Danny up and go to NYC. I haven't been to the NY show yet. Maybe we can all get together or something, boy wouldn't that be scary.

Oh, geez. Don't you go pumpin up Don's ego now! Next thing ya know, he'll be all uppity and whatnot. He's hard enough to get along with now. ;) :) :D

I say yes if you can afford it. There's more inspiration in there than the B...

...nope, ain't gonna go that far, but lets say that every time I look at that book, my heart flutters. :)

Yeah I think we should make it a point to meet up at the BLADE SHOW. Right, guys? I mean, dang it would be cool to have a meeting spot for all the BladeForumites.

That would be great. I went to the pit last year but, I guess I was too early or something. There were some great guys there, don't get me wrong but, there weren't alot of folks around. A forum meeting place would be a good plan. Tess said she's actually going to stay at the room and let me off on my own. Oh, boy. This could be trouble.

My wife will be coming along this year. Maybe we can hook the two of them up? Hmmm... we could be on to something here... hmmm...
