Awhile back I seen a knife that was made in Italy. I did a google search to find it again and buy it. In my search I found this knife made by Lion Steel. At first I thought a joint venture, Benchmade & Lion steel. I searched for info on the lock, they call it OCS. And they call it there own. http://www.lionsteel.it/it/catalogo_lionsteel.pdf
This is what they say: "OCS system: Open and close security system. New LionSteel system (patent pending) which ensures the automatic block of the blade both in open and closed positions. With a simple move of your thumb, you can operate the block and free the blade."

Does look like a version of the Axi-lock, but then so do a couple of other lock designs I can think of off hand (ER RAO, the lock on my porch screen door).

Wonder what the insides look like.

Patent pending to whom and where?

Interesting. From what I can see in the pictures, it appears to have either a back spring like a slip joint or something like the lock bar on a lockback. It looks like the "axis bar" acts on this back spring instead of on the blade tang directly like the Axis lock does.
