Greetings and salutations my fellow brothers (and sisters) of the blade. I hope this doesn't violate the TOS or at least the spirit thereof.
I've been sharpening knives for many years and accumulated the junk drawer full of gizmos, gadgets, jigs and stones. Having picked up the habit before the Internet days, I learned most everything I know the hard way. Price and an already too full drawer have kept me from buying an Edge Pro. I'm not made of money, and other interests, pursuits and hobbies compete for funding. Even the $30-40 knock offs have kept me from clicking "buy it now". Until now. I read about the $20 version. When I did a search, I found one for $11.99. So now for less than a delivered pizza, you can get an edge pro knock-off.
So since I couldn't find any result for anyone with any sort of experience with the $11.99 "Hot Knife Sharpener", I thought I'd start a thread. I'm not advertising for them, endorsing the seller or product in any way. Only trying to consolidate info for those that come in search of.
First issue is, I just ordered mine and have yet to receive it. It appears to be the same as several other sellers but without the bag to hold the stones. The seller has not responded to any of several inquiries, not a great sign. But at the price I'm not expecting much. Hopefully it will work reasonably well with some tinkering.
