I bought my Sub in 1989 and it was one of the last years that the lugs had holes to access the pins. These holes make it a lot easier to change straps, so I found a nice quality rubber strap to change it up.

Those holes do make it easier. I have a 5512 made in 1961. Love the vintage Subs.
