Let's face it, we've all had this feeling when it comes to knives. For me, it was the Benchmade 710. I had wanted one for a while, but never pulled the trigger. When I finally grabbed one I thought, "why the heck did I wait so long to get this one?"

Which one was it for you?

For me, it was my ZT 0801. I'd wanted one, saved up some funds, and just kept missing deal after deal on the Exchange. Then a friend posted up his pimped-out one for sale, and I was able to make it happen, and I couldn't have been happier. It's one of my knives that I will never sell. Just couldn't imagine parting with it:

I know I've used this picture several times here, but honestly, it's one of my favorites. The lighting was perfect, and the color of the modification really popped out. This is one picture of mine that I never get tired of seeing. Very few of those, admittedly.

If I ever get one, it'll probably be the ZT 0200 which I've wanted for years now... as of now it's probably my Jerry Hossom Retribution folder... doesn't see a lot of carry but I saw it in Blade Magazine a very long time ago, happened to pick one up last year.

For me it was the Commander line from Emerson. I thought the recurve was too deep for easy sharpening but it's actually not hard at all. It's the only knife I have multiples of, and I plan on getting one of every size.

Becker BK9 for me,

I thought that "why-did-I-wait-for-so-long?" right after the unboxing and held the king in my hand!

I can't get past the chisel grind on those, otherwise they look outstanding!

For me the Delica. I always checked them out but the handle scared me being plastic.
I got to handle one in person and I loved it.
It doesn't see much carry because I got some stripped handle screws but I'll buy new ones soon.

For me, starting to think it's been ZT in general... this was my first and so far only ZT. Probably going to change that with the 0562CF and maybe 0620, though.

I like this thing more every day. :D

CRK for me...for over a year i looked and read about them. February of this year got my first Sebenza, a few other CRKs followed shortly thereafter. Glad it worked out that way. Would not have tried the others if had got the.CRKs sooner...

That thing is simply gorgeous. One day I will get one!

For me it was Spyderco in general and the PM2 specifically. I thought the hole in the blade was sort of wonky. Finally pulled the triger and now I own a bunch of spydercos.

The 710 was that way for me too.
The 710 is an awesome knife and a classic to boot!
And you've got one in M2!?
You, my friend, have hit the jackpot!
Congratulations.

Spyderco Stretch. Played with several others before in their line, Endura, Delica, Native, Salt, Caly Jr..
It's a unique critter, barely larger closed than the Delica, with 3/4" more blade. Or, notabley smaller than an
Endura, with almost the same blade length.

When I first saw the Spyderco Southard, I thought to myself, damn, that's an ugly knife. But it slowly grew on me and when I finally got one, I realized that it was as close to the perfect knife as I have yet to find. Slim, lot's of cutting edge, lightweight, and amazing steel. And, I think it's it's a gorgeous knife, especially with some carbon fiber on it.

I had gripes with spyderco for a while. But, being the nice guy that I am:p I gave them a second chance...

Why did I wait so long:confused:

This thread could turn into a brand pissing match, or be epic, and I sincerely hope for the latter, as I think it's a great idea.

I bought an Emerson design, Benchmade CQC-7 in 1999, carried it everyday, and loved it. In 2001 I gifted it to a good friend who helped me move (2200 miles) because he really liked it, and for some reason I didn't replace it. 13 years later I finally bought an Emerson, and as the thread title says, I don't know what took me so long.

On a side note... Skywalker, that's a great looking knife.

Spyderco Military. I always thought it was a cool knife, but I didn't think it was that much different than the PM2. I was wrong. Even with the scare of it possibly being a clone, it's still high quality and so far it is the only knife I plan on getting more variations of.

Mine was a Sebenza, I wanted one as soon as they came out but didn't get one till last year.

Money was the issue but once I got one I wondered why I ever waited.;)

Modern folders in general. I've always been a fan of classic designs and natural handle materials, so something like a Spyderco Delica looked like a fantasy piece to me.

I bought a bunch of stuff from a gun shop that was going out of business and two Spydercos were included, a Viele (the old AUS8 version) and a Walker Lightweight. I was going to flip them but ended up carrying them and liking them quite a bit (especially the Viele).

Those two knives opened up a whole new world for my knife addiction.

For me, this knife is the SOG Aegis. I took notice of this knife when they first came out but never bought one until maybe a year ago. This knife is so lightweight, comfortable to use, and disappears in my pocket. IMO this knife is a perfect EDC blade. I should have bought one years ago.
