Hello BeckerHeads

I have been so unbelievably busy. Every free moment I have had has been spent in the woods. I even managed to fit in a hunting trip. The deer apparently have spent to much time with the North Vietnamese and live in tunnels.

I purchased a ZK War Sword and love this toy. The sheath pouch will hold a small truck.
I have been using my BK10 like it is the only knife in the world. Sure I put a few chips in the blade (and tears in my eyes) but I was able to clean them up.

I hope all is well and plan to be online more now that things have slowed up a bit.

WB brother glad to hear you've been out having a good time.

Hey Bushy, welcome back. Fill us in.

Well Trade, I am sad to admit that I have no new wounds to show. I still have all my fingers.

I have been buying up cutlery like the end is nigh'

Wife bought an ESEE 6 (its on back order) and she bought me a TOPS Helion Elite. I know it is mall ninja-ish but I just needed to see if all that stuff crammed onto a 6" blade would actually work. She won't let me test it until after Xmas. Worst case scenario, I will be popular at a flea market..ha ha
Bought a Woodmans Pal. I love swinging that thing around. Bought some different pocket knives from Ka-Bar to Gerber to Kershaw.

Been working on my fine carving skills. Made my wife a rose. Well the head of the rose to be honest. Been cranking out staves like mad. Nothing spectacular about them except they can hold over 350lbs. If they can't sustain my weight, they might as well be toothpicks.

I really would like to get a 14 or one of the Tweeners to see how they compare with my Mora in the crafting of bush and whatnot.

decide I had enough of a cooling off period so it was safe to come back? :D (kidding)
Clich was able to clean up the BK5 and it finished the passaround.
woodsman's pal is a great tool.
BK14 is a good knife, but it's not as good for fine carving as a Mora -- they have that much better a point.
The ESEE6 is one of my all-time favorite knives -- the handles seem to fit my hand better than most and the balance is as perfect as my BK12.

I have never heard of a BK5. Is that some sort of Japanese car? :)

turns out that fiskars/gerber now makes a clone of the woodsmans tool. i want one :) good price too.

You'll have to let us kno how you like the Hellion...have heard the "master of none" reference used more than once about this knife but an objective opinion would be nice. It looks rather useful...curious to find out...

Good to have you back, brother.

Look forward to hearing what you think about all that hardware.

:D

Welcome back brother. Don't feel bad, we also must have Vietnamese deer around here as well, cause i ain't seen none, during the day.

welcome back man..!!! I just seen a buck the other day coming home, he wouldn't get out of the way.. just stood there looking at me for a minute, I was going around 5mph then, he trots off slowly into the bush without a worry in sight..... lots a does this season, I've only spotted 2 bucks.......

I only saw a single small doe Friday night.
NOTHING was moving yesterday.
in the last 5 minutes, I've heard about 10 shots from 3 different directions -- and i have to go fix a roof.

Welcome back ogre. Hey vik who won your passaround contest anyways? I don't remember seeing a post. I saw 6 doe booking it across the field yesterday. Of course I have the 30-30 and not my 06 but I shot anyways. After I looked for blood and used the range finder, over 400 yards. Yeh no dice on a running deer are that distance. Today's the last day. Im posting from my spot so you can tell how much action I'm getting.

I saw NO deer yesterday. was busy helping out a coworker this afternoon and got home just a hair before sunset -- tomorrow is my last chance until January.
I have no idea who won the contest -- Moosez life imploded between work and being sick and Baldite dropped the ball on his end as well.
guess I need to bump the thread and remind them.
