Alright know I am asking the ultimate question. If you could have only one folding knife to carry around what knife would it be ? Alright I know that there will be lots of debates so I will TRY to narrow down the choices. Alright the knife would have to be able to do your everyday needs, It would have to put up with a lot of abuse in those rare cases were the world is ending, and it would have to put up with any condition of weather. So please post all your honest advice and pictures about the ultimate knife.

Thank You

My choice is the Benchmade Skirmish 630, it's nicely made and reasonably priced, seen some go for as low as $120 on ebay. If you lose it or hurt it somehow, it's not too big of a bite out of the wallet and can be replaced. It may be a little large for some, but I like big folders.
Are we talking customs here too? If so, I'm sure I could always find something nicer, better and stronger. I've had quite a few knives that cost more but I just love this one. Top photo is just a touch larger than actual size.

Terzuola ATCF

Go over the top all you want, this is one of the best knives ever. A simple but sleek using design. I dont think they need to be overbuilt. I might not use it to dig holes in hardpack clay with rocks in it, but any knife that can isnt gona cut to well when your done. For a knife and not a prybar, ATCF would be my first choice.

My RC is all I ever need. As versatile as it gets. I've stopped buying/selling/trading knives since getting one.

Knife Collector,That's a huge compliment coming from you. As long as I've been around you've had, or traded away some of the top makers handiwork. Ie;, You have good taste in knives both production and tactical.

I suppose that's why Hinderer is so backed up on orders. BTW, how do you like the Duratech 20CV compared to some of the other steels you've tried? I recall you aren't exactly thrilled by ZDP, but like S30V pretty well. How do you compare the two steels? Thank you, Joe

Benchmade mini-rukus it perfect size for edc big enough to do damn near anything and it has the axis lock. The handle is one of the most comfortable I have ever felt.

My one knife for all seasons, all reasons...my Spyderco Paramilitary. Not too small, not too big, not to heavy, not too light. Just right for EDC:)

thanks everyone well in my opinion mine would have to be the Buck Strider 880TX, Built like a brick, great blade- tanto serrations, and strength. And my opinion a great folder to have if everything goes wrong.

Forge blade custom by someone like Mark Sentz, Don Hanson, Bailey Bradshaw or John Perry.

multitool, I guess a Leatherman Wave, since that's what I already have. While I change what knife I carry, I always have a multitool.

There is two I like and at the time would have to flip a coin. A FireTac Hinderer or Dozier.

MPE

Of the ones I have it would have to be my Microtech SOCOM if this is a wish list it would probably be a JL williams SR1

I also feel my XM-18 is the one that I would take if I had to survive somewhere. Steven

You didn't mention price.

For production I'd say Spyderco Manix.
For custom I'd say Mike Draper.

I just snapped these in bad light:

One blade? I would never pick a folder.
I will go with the one in my signature.

He did say "folding knife" in his original post or I'd have to agree with you.

But since you missed that, I have to call you something, like a...

dorkass:D

Read, bitch, READ!;)
