Here is one amazing Gentleman's Bowie, especially made by Larry Fuegen
for my next book...

“Gentleman’s Dress Bowie”, 2009
Traditional lines and classic styling give this Bowie a unique look and feel.
It has an 8 1/8” (206 mm) forged to shape Ladder pattern Damascus
blade with a 5” (127 mm) clip point, and is fitted with a carved nickel
Damascus guard and a fluted spacer with 14k gold bands.
The richly colored ancient walrus ivory handle is carved, has carved 14k gold
centers and is surrounded by a carved 18 gauge Sterling silver handle wrap.
A custom dark brown leather sheath with Sterling silver fittings adds to the
traditional charm of this Bowie. Overall length 13 1/8” (333 mm)
and a 5/16” (8 mm) finial.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Fantastic! It just does not get any better than that. Man, that would sure look at home here in Florida.

As always a really amazing piece from Larry. It oozes class, especially the wrap around the handle.

WOW...spectacular. Another in the many extraordinary creations from Mr. Fuegen.

Thanks for posting it David. It is a pleasure to see it and as usual your photography is as good as it gets.

Hello Peter,

Actually all the knives displayed in my new book were originally
photographed for me by two world-class photographers.
Eric Eggly (Point7 Studios) in the USA and Francesco Pachi in Europe.

I take the knives they photograph on a plain grey background
and create the final illustrations, usually combining knives and
enlarged details from several RAW pictures in every final display...

It is an exciting but very time consuming process, especially when
dealing with more than 520 knives like in this book. :)

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Though Larry has a very recognizable style, he always manages to come up with different and artistic elements to beautifully set each piece apart from the last.

Amazing how one individual can be so universally talented.

David, thats a stunning bowie and sheath. Love that handle wrap. Question on the construction: Is the guard and the blade one piece of steel? From the photo it looks to be a removeable handle assembly also. Enquiring minds need to know.

No Bruce, the nickel Damascus guard is fitted on....

What an incredible piece of art. As far as I am concerned, Larry is as talented as anyone maing knives today.

Thanks David, for showing us this amazing knife.

David -- better get this one entered into the competition setup by Roger in another thread. Wonderful knife.

You think that is impressive, you should also look at his spurs. He has a WIP for knives and spurs on his website.
