I'm an idiot. My wife and I went on vacation for our anniversary and spent a week travelling around Southern NH. We made it out to the Seacoast one day and on a whim decided to drive into Maine, just to say we did. We ate some lobster just over the state line in Kittery. After dinner we went across the street to the Kittery Trading Post, a huge store, two stories with alot of touristy stuff on the first floor and hiking/hunting/camping stuff on the second. As we went up the stairs to the 2nd floor, my wife spied a display of Buck knives. It was standard stuff, except they had a Gent model with the Kittery Trading Post logo and an anniversary date laser etched.....$10. My wife says, "why don't you get it?" El Stupido says, "nah, I probably wouldn't use it." Now, I've always thought if I was going to buy Buck knives for a display it would be the Gent or similar models, they're relatively affordable for a civil servant like me, look nice and I could fit a good number of them in the display case I have. I can't believe I didn't buy it, what an idiot! As we drove home, now many miles away from Kittery, I said to my wife, "you know how sometimes you buy something and you have buyer's regret, well I have non-buyers regret for not buying that knife. " I hope some of you can console me with Bucks you should have or could have bought, but did not. I have already looked online, it's $6.95 to ship it, I may still go for it but that would hurt when I was standing right in front of it!

That is too bad, Buckaroo, but how does that old saying go, 'He who hesitates is lost'? As long as my wallet holds out, I never hesitate. ;)

Get it, that isn't too bad for shipping and you'll have a good story about it down the road.

One that I let get away...

The Buckmaster that I saw at the gun store when the "Rambomania" phase was going on.

Oh, and the hooker in the bar in Hawai'i.

I wish I could fix some my mistakes for only $6.95. Order it, I say.:)

So, I finally decide to call them today and order the knife, due to the favorable comments here and my wife's offer of it being an anniversary gift. I get the guy on the phone and he's looking at the knife and tells me it's $19.95, not $10. I asked him a bunch of questions to make sure he's looking at the right one, does it still say "special" with a red tag, etc. but it sounds like the right one with the wrong price. I asked if they may have had a super special that day I was there but he doesn't think so. What a mess! So, in the end I passed on it but have learned a valuable lesson not to wait on a knife I like that is right in front of me. Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, I thought maybe I was mistaken but I asked my wife after I talked to the guy and she remembered seeing the price tag as well. Oh well...
