Howdy~

well now that my great big move into my new shop has ended ..
(though it would have been a good thing if someone told me it leaked prior to me moving my electrical stuff in.. argh!)
i am back to mostly full speed and things are actually getting done again.

so... my wife, sherry, and i recently went a medieval banquet .. and on a whim i thought i would quickly whip something up for my wife to use for her costume dagger .. (and also be able to enter it into the military craft competition that was going to be judged on the night.)

so here it is:

its an integral design that i was playing with, so the blade, tang and pommel are all one piece of steel.. with everything else being put onto it after.
the guard and fittings are brass .. with a couple amethysts on the pommel for something a little more dressy.
the wood for the handle is jarrah burl, with a 6 twist of brass wire in the fluting.
the sheath is soft leather, with brass fitting and a haemitite ball in the very end.

its not the bestest picture, but you get the point.

and yes .. it won the competition.

it was weird going over to the competition table and putting this tiny little dagger down on the table next to all these broadswords and great swords ..

so size really doesnt matter! ;)

now i have to figure what to enter next banquet .. and this time i know that the head guy at the armourers guild will be out for me
:)

also, i know that its not knife related, but this is something else that i entered in on the night .. that was made for someone else at the banquet:
