Which knife (or knives) were you most excited about and anticipated the most ? I'm talking about throughout your entire life. Whether it's a new and recent preorder of a fancy blade or just a standard production piece from years ago that you , for some reason , instantly fell in love with upon seeing.

I'd say either the Wilson Combat Eagle or the Lionsteel M7 fixed blade.

I was able to purchase both, and they did not disappoint! They both are great knives.

The only one that has kinda been a letdown is my Gold Class Benchmade 940-121. It is perfect, actually, for what it is. I just like bigger knives.

Strider SnG and Brian Tighe Mini Tighe Rod. The SnG was an excellent knife, no complaints other than it was far more knife than I needed, so I sold it. I sold off most of my large and/or hard use knives. I was extremely excited about it. The Tighe Rod was underwhelming at first. The shape of the handle doesn't quite fit my hand, but the flipping action is good especially for such a small knife. If you have big hands it can be a bit awkward.

Benchmade 7505-132. But now it's a TAD Dauntless Mk3 which will be at the post office today and I won't be able to get to for almost two weeks :(

The biggest ones for me were the Emerson cqc-7 and then the commander.

My first CRK, a small Sebenza 21 plain jane. I was super excited to see what all the hype about, and I was not disappointed. Plus, the shipping got botched and I was sitting around waiting for it for almost 2 weeks, which just built up the anticipation even more.

Pretty pumped about the elmax blur that's on its way. Handled one at Blade and couldn't wait until they came out.

I have high anticipation for a few knives that are out/coming out. When I have the money I'm considering the CS Recon 1 Tanto in CTS-XHP to start. I'm more intrigued than anything about the DPX HEAT I have coming tomorrow.

In late 2009 I saw that a limited edition BM 707 Sequel with S30V blade and silver handle was about to become available on the KW site. I don't recall there being a pre-order option. It was just first come first served once they were officially available. I didn't have a smart phone back then so I had to wait until I got home from work the next day to order mine. It was a loooong day at work indeed. Luckily I was able to get my order in that evening. Then I ordered a second one the next day. This was back when BM's weren't ridiculously high priced.

I am now experiencing the same level of excitement and anticipation with the Spyderco Yojimbo2 S90V which is also an exclusive at KW. This time I have my pre-order locked in. It's just a waiting game now. I'm just happy I got my pre-order in and I have my order confirmation. I should prob order a second one.

When I first handled the Benchmade 710 it took my interest to enthusiasm.
Now, with the release of that blue/black with M390, I am thinking this might just blow my mind.
Cheers

ZT 801CF, with that bronze coating and carbon fiber inlays it looked so cool, it was the most exited I ever was when I unboxed a knife. Even more than my two Sebenzas

when i was around 10 or 11 back in the early 90s, an uncle got a Cold Steel Master Tanto. We were allowed to stab a phone book etc, cut random things...over time i saw it being put to use & abuse, and it always held up great..wanted one since then...we did not live in North America at the time, and growing up there really was not much options for buying one, and given the exchange rate, the price was ridiculous to most people there...Nearly 20 years later i got one...well actually three, a Master and two Magnum Tantos...that was what took me to the nearest knife dealer & websites, even Bladeforums....and then soon after signing up at BF of course the Benchmades, Spydercos, CRK and few others followed...
waited nearly a year before going for my first CRK...loved the first one i picked up...and getting a new CRK is always very exciting...

IIRC the time from preorder to delivery was quite a while. During that time there was a fair amount of controversy involving the designer and a lot of drama on the forum. Once people starting receiving their knives there were a fair number of issues reported with more drama and more controversy. After it was all said and done I ended up quite happy with the knife. It was problem free when it arrived and to date has still done nothing but provide good service as part of my EDC rotation. It is without a doubt my most "anticipated" knife for a variety of reasons.

Benchmade Nimravus. When I first got (back) into knives a few years ago, I really wanted to get one, but the price was outside my financial comfort zone at the time. I eventually scored one here on the Exchange, and behold, life was good.
