My hobby includes buying and selling almost continuously in order to find what I like best and because I am not financially able to keep everything I buy.

So here are two that I regretfully let go.

Let's see what you moved on and now regret

I had an early Buck 112 Ranger that was stolen. Not quite what you ask about but it’s still gone and it is still missed.

By that same token, I had my first & only William Henry stolen. It's been about 15 yrs, and I still get depressed (and angry) when I think about it.

I had a beautiful Bowie many years ago. It got separated from me somewhere along the way (I don’t even remember when, how or where) and I’ve missed it ever since. It’s one of the lost treasures of my Boy Scout days. But--on a happier note--I’ve got a new Sebenza and a new ZT 0452 on their way to me right now. Comparing either of them to my old lost Bowie would be like comparing a new Porsche 911 to a beat-up 1960 VW Beetle. I’ll be a lot happier with the new ones than I’d be with the old Bowie if I still had it.

I had a couple of custom fixed blades made by Mr. Carter here on the forums. Being sort of a newb I regretfully moved them along like a dumb ass.
I also had an ASH1 that I want back!

Busse Team Gemini (original, not the LB), Busse Killa Zilla test team edition and Extrema Ratio Ultramarine. I do miss those knives!

I had a Large Sebenza21 with a certain CGG on the handle. I foolishly sold it. But I think I'm gonna buy a new one. It haunts me.

I sold a stretch 2 zdp in the green frn that I put a ridiculous edge on thinking I'd like the g10 variant better. I dont and the g10 will be available in the market place soon.

Pic of the one that got away and the one I have now. Also a pic of the cybertool that I lost two weeks ago. Replacement for that just purchased on the marketplace last night - leatherman mut.20170920_171024-2016x1512.jpg 20170920_135015-2016x1512-1512x1134.jpg 20180904_140901-1512x2016.jpg

One issue that might make people regret selling is when a manufacturer shifts production from one country to another such as Japan to China or from USA to China. SOG comes to mind in this regard (Japan > China or Taiwan), but I feel sure there are other manufacturers.

I have no regrets as I have only sold one knife to date. I miss it actually, but don't regret selling it.

I should have kept a few of the big horse stamp Blind horses that I had when I first started this hobby. Some that I have traded/sold over the years have made it back to me a time or two. Seems like some blades travel between owners a lot.

No name one of a kind Laconico clip point non-flipper similar to Jasmine. Been looking for it since selling. It came up for sale here once and I missed it by minutes only never to surface again.

ZT 0562cf. I sold it out of anger after it opened up in my pocket and went under my thumb nail, requiring stitches. I was real close to buying another one last month but went with the 0804cf instead.

Here's two that I wish I could have back. Ritter grip with OD green micarta scales and copper anodized low rider clip. And the sebenza with carbon inlay. Been trying to buy another CF inlay sebbie but they are hard to come by.

I had a very early Crusader Forge (which was called Trident Forge at the time), Oberland O1 which I got for $300 brand new at a show in Vegas. He was totally unknown at that time and $300 seemed a lot at the time. I sold it for a tad more I recall, but I really should have held onto that one. I ended up getting another smaller Crusader Forge I never used at all, where at the time I thought the 01 too large. I only waited 6 months for the second one, where as now wait times for his stuff is in the 2-3 year range apparently. I posted on the knife here like 10 years ago. I may have sold it via BF too I think.

I found one of these in a forest in the late 90’s. It was in user shape and the sheath was functional. At the time I didn’t really know much and traded it for a handmade chopper from the Philippines.

On the bright side, I still have the chopper even after finding out it was purchased for three dollars...

Side note, if you know anyone visiting the Philippines have them pick up an assortment of blades. Many are made from salvaged spring steel and not all that bad.

Kershaw Chill with thumbstuds. It was a store exclusive and was an awesome knife. Easiest knife I have owned to open, disappeared in the pocket, was comfortable, etc. Sadly I lost it shortly after I got it. I broke my arm and I clipped it back in my pocket with my left hand in my right pocket and that was the last I saw of it.

Microtech Socom Elite - Traded

Large 21 - Traded

Microtech Selectfire - Stolen

Boker Exskelibur 1 full Ti framelock - Traded, strangely I miss this one the most. Luckily I got a replacement. (Cf front scales framelock)

ZT 0620cf, first gen with no lockbar insert but super skeletonized liner. - Traded.

These all went to loving homes other than the MT Select Fire.

I had an Al Mar Alaskan Bowie in my hand about 25 years ago and didn’t want to spend the $150 the guy was asking for it at the time. Been kicking myself for 25 years over that one.
