I have collected numerous Spyderco's over the years and the consistant most interesting thing is that ONLY the Spyderco Military series knives from Spyderco NIB don't come wrapped in plastic bags in their boxes!

Has anyone else experienced this with what I consider one of if not the best Spyderco folding knife series in the Spyderco Military?

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????:jerkit::eek:

P.S. I love the knives but every time this happens I feel I bought a used knife!
LoL! :grumpy:

yeah my paramilitary came in a box, no bubble wrap no plastic wrap i thought it was odd.

Maybe they need to order more extra-large wrappers.

Maybe you need to ditch the jerk-it smiley. Save it for Whine & Cheese, please.

BTW, I don't drink or take any mind altering substances to enjoy my life.

Life on life's terms is enough. No wine for me thank you.

Knives loosely in a box can be jostled about in transit and have a bit of marring on the clips. So, I always pack anything I ship so the knife is protected in it's own box.
Seems most everybody does this as well and it's a nice touch, IMO. From the manufacturer or a private deal on a NIB knife.

Most of my new Spyderco knives didn't come in a bag in the box. Only the most recent ones like the Khukri and the Barong came bagged. It's not a big deal to me. :rolleyes:

hmmm... I don't remember if any of my previous Spydercos came in a box, but I do know that my Paramilitary didn't. Most Kershaws that I've bought have come bagged inside the box, and my Opinel No. 6 came in a bag and nothing else. Benchmade's come in nice little cloth bags inside their box.

I'm in the less packaging is better crowd though. Less packaging is better for the environment and in the long run cuts down costs because less packaging means less supplies for the manufacturer to have to order. Even if the bags only cost $100 for ten thousand, that's still $100 they don't have to spend.

And don't worry about the smiley... I always thought he was scratching his chin too.

My Native 2 and Native 4 did not come bagged inside their boxes and they were purchased NIB from a retailer...so think it may be at random. I had also asked before, spyderco will wrap their knives with a variety of wraps, sometimes bubble wrap, soft one end opened plastic bag, thick sealed plastic...all varies.

why would you use a jerk it in a all ages knife forum over a pointless plastic bag? Get over your thought/feelings of your knife not being new by simply looking at it and realizing, its brand new :thumbup: If you still cant manage, hit me up and Ill send you all my official Spyderco plastic as I dont plan on using it too much.

I dont see the point of this thread or what is interesting about it, however;

Out of all my spydies only 1 G-10 Millie & 1 Tenacious came without a plastic bag.

My native didn't come in a bag. Didn't even think about it until you bring it up. I'm never buying Spyderco again! j/k I really haven't the faintest idea why this is a big deal.

I got a Leaf Storm straight from Spyderco that had no wrapper and a bit of the red from the box had rubbed off onto it. I cleaned it off with my finger with a fair bit of rubbing and when I traded it away I wrapped it inside the box.
