The Original Military pivot pin on the Para?

From what I heard the Pivot pin on the Para is a new one yet has some downsides. I don't have one yet but I have a Dodo that I believe uses the same pivot pin. As someone in this forum said the pin has been mangled that tension adjustment is not so easy(it mangles more the already mangled pivot). :(
secondly, it may be a personal preference, but I think the original military's pivot pin has a better look and would go better off with the Para as well. Pivot tension adjustment should be easier, too. :)
I wish it happens for its second run or third...hopefully. ;)

I have a Para and yes it does have the same pivot as the Dodo. Mine came looking like the screws had already been almost stripped. However, I was able to adjust mine without difficulty. My main problem with this pivot system is that it looks kind of crappy (because it looks stripped) and that you need two different sizes and types of wrench for adjustment.

The TORX heads on my Dodo are in much better condition than the Para.
To form a better Torx pattern on the screw, I took a Torx drive screwdriver and tapped on it with a small hammer. It's a little better.
Of course, I could change screws. Anyone know the thread size?

I think I just figured something out.It not that the pivot is bugered up,its that it is made to accept either an allen wrench or a torx.
Try it.A 3/32 allen or a T7 torx will work on either side of mine.

Mine takes a T10 on the clip side, and nothing really fits on the other. Looks like someone hammered an Allen wrench into the opening for a Torx screw.
Guess I'll have to get it replaced. Love the Paramilitary, but I'm not exactly overwhelmed by getting a predamaged $100+ knife.

I know what you mean. The pivot on mine does not look good, kind of dinky looking for such a knife.
The allen head fits good but the torx does not fit well at all.
To late for us but maybe the pivot screw will be changed on future runs.

You are right U812, the allen fits right in there.
I can't however, understand why go backward with an Allen fitting when you already have a superior Torx screw.

Not only hammered in, but on my newly acquired example, it is off center. :barf: Is there any way that Spyderco would be willing to send a replacement?

I wish they would come up with a replacement.I like everything else about the Para.
