Those who have talked to me at length have heard of my quest to track down the picture that showed all the original tweener protos, not the one that just shows the tanto, recurve, and drop point. Today while looking, I finally tracked down a pic. Not the one I had hoped to find (it was color and was larger) but a pic nonetheless. Apparently from the July 2009 issue of Tactical Knives magazine, page 80. (Found the info in a previous thread in the Becker subsection.)

Like I said, not the greatest, but it illustrates that there were more designs considered than just the three.

You can also see where the weird tanto shape came from for the Necker sheaths.

I dig the first one on the right....Becker Butcher...What your finest serial killers will be using this holiday season!

I'm gonna have to get at least one on those made. I'm not gonna say quick one either :D

Cool stuff. I like the 1st one on the left.

I want the first 2 on the left. Although, I want the 3 production models, too... Mr Becker, you're an evil genius!

I've handled all of those. Honestly, they suck.

I know, I know, but really they do. The first one was to be the BK2 Tweener, and of all of them, that's the one I would want. The tanto:confused: really?

Hate recurves, and the 2nd and 3rd from the right, well, those will be released soon, with a better handle. :D

I honestly don't see anything there that I want over the BK16 I have now. I know the ergo's were vastly improved over those versions with the current handle (having handled the tanto, recurve, and drop point protos at the first Gathering) so I am glad for the changes. I do still think it is interesting to see this window into how it works, and what was considered and tried and whatnot. We are fans of Becker knives, and that covers a lot of ground, and especially anything "behind the scenes" we can get a look at. Honestly I wish there was a thread of every failed design or proto that got made, even if they were cool but not pursued for other reasons. Would be incredibly interesting to see that kind of info and get a glimpse into that part of the production that normally we are not privy to.

i don't know about other pix... but those are entertaining

Thanks for locating and reposting this.. a nice window into evolution if you believe in that... would 2009 be the timeframe of the photo?

Very cool to see these. I love knowing the history behind my knife. Makes it that much cooler to me!

Ah, that little recurve was my obsession for the short time it was considered. Rest in piece, my coveted, your time was too short :(

You might be able to talk Bladite out of it. ;)

Cool pic...That is an interesting assortment, but I notice there aren't any clip points in there. I am really glad they came out with the 17!

I count two clip points, third and fourth from the right, not that they have a nice curve or swedge, but there are clip points there.
