As I menioned in another thread, I bought an OD-1 and like it a lot. After reading the threads here I decided to check to see if the south side Pueblo store had them and pick up the Zing everyone is so interested in. When I got there they had them on display but after reading the clamshell packs decided to take a chance on the Skyline instead. I'm glad I did. This is one fine little knife! Light, sharp, G-10 grippy scales, single liner, super ergos, and 5 bucks cheaper than the others. It has "tactical" looks and feel, but on a scale more useable for my daily EDC purposes. It rides in my Dockers nice and light, without sagging the pocket down. I may eventually get around to trying a Zing, but this Skyline is definitely first class.

Thats the next on my list of Wally World knives, I have the Zing and OD-1. I will get the Skyline next....I mean I HAVE TO. Otherwise everytime I walk by it I am gonna feel incomplete.:(

Yep, I'm in the other thread also, but it was a pretty close choice for me between the OD-1 and the Skyline. I chose the OD-1.

But, I will get the Skyline next. I like the lines of this knife a lot, as well as the other attributes that you point out. Looks like a real winner and another great Kershaw value.

Being limited budget-wise, Kershaw has risen to the top of my list of favorite manufacturers.

I hear ya about the budget. When I lost my last job I was making good bucks, empty nest, buying everything I wanted. I had Sebenzas, Microtechs, ProTechs, hi level Benchmades and Spydercos. I lived off them for two years, buying selling and trading on this and other forums and had some Striders, customs and others come and go along the way. I'm back working now, (at less than half of what I made before), and in the buying mode but on a much more affordable scale. These budget friendly Kershaws fit jes' fine with the Delicas and Enduras I have replaced in my collection.

Yeah, the Kershaw "bang for buck" factor is unreal. I've got the Skyline (love it), and have my eye on the OD-1 next.:D I love the non AO flipper designs, which reminds me of the mother of all Kershaw values, the JYD II CB.

I picked up one of the Skyline Damascus blems here because the price was just so good and it has quickly become my favorite EDC knife. I had been carrying the Ener-G just about every day and now only carry it in one pair of slacks that the Skyline doesn't quite ride in right.

The Skyline is thin, light and one heckuva slicer.

it just goes to show you dont have to spend a hundred dollars on a good knife, & they are u.s. made to boot.maybe kershaw could teach gm ford & chrysler how its done......

I ALMOST got one...but after traveling to so many stores to get the Zing and OD-1...I got those instead.

Couldnt be more impressed. These are $80 knives.

The guy behind the counter had to play with them before he would give them to me. A few minutes went by and I was just about ready to say "Hey, quit that and ring these up!" when he cut himself with an OD-1. It was funny.

Even the Walmart guy was impressed with the smoothness. "Wow, these are way smoother than the Gerbers are. You have to break a Gerber in. Have you ever tried these titanium blades? They hold an edge forever. Do these Kershaws have titanium blades too? They probably do, they seem pretty nice."

Me- "Um, yeah, these are a lot better than Gerbers, which are not Ti...they are titanium nitride COATED, with inferior steel. These are 14c28n Sandvik, and they are the only company that uses it. I am not a fan of Gerber."

I dunno...I tried to be nice...but at least maybe he learned something.

I have a few old Gerbers with ATS-34 and CPM 154 blades that are top notch. My last attempt at using a newer one was one of the skeleton frame jobs from Walmart. A bit of a twist while whittling bent the blade. To my surprise, I straightened it with my bare hands. Off into the dumpster it went!
