I got the second ax finished today except for a second coat of sealer but that will happen tomorrow. Same size as the one before 5 1/2" edge to edge, 2 1/2" at the pole, and 3" cutting edges. 16" maple hafts with a buckskin wrap and a couple turkshead knots and the doda on the end. Forgot to mention that both heads are out of solid bar 5160.

Liam Ryan, Not exactyly sure what you are asking by tang. Maybe your meaning eye or pole. The top of the haft goes all the way threw the eye and is wedged. Exactly the same as you would see with a wood handled hammer.

The fit is so tight from poll to handle it looked like it was a flat stock blade
with wooden handle scales, I just wanted to see a better angle on it.
I must have been half asleep:D
Nice work again

The axes are something I've just gotten started with and after making lots of tomahawks. There are a few differences between the two and one major difference is eye bulge. I was hopeing I still had the picture of my first ax attempt but it got deleted. It was forged like I would a hawk and it had a horrible eye bulge.

They arent too hard on the eyes, I can honestly say.
They look like they are well balanced, too. Would you be selling those?

Very easy on the eyes, and look well balanced.
Are those or similar ones up for sale? i would love a polished one in my collection.

I plan on taking both of these to Blade West. I'll be making more in the future and I guess I could polish one up once I get my shop back to 100%. Had a fire a year ago that took both my shop and barn and all the tools I had collected over the last 30 years or more. I've been working in a small section of my garage with about 1/4th the tools that I used to have. After more than a year since the fire my new structure just got started yesterday and hopefully by next year I'll have most my tools replaced and up to speed. Thats my shop the day after the fire.
