This thread could just as well be called the "Goose That (sometimes) Lays the Golden Eggs!!

Many times, I go to my P.O.Box, insert my impressive key, and nothing falls out but insurance company advertisements, and catalogs for stuff no-one needs!
But every once in a while stuff like this presents itself!!
Imagine that!!

Gorgeous pick ups! That Ulster is fabulous. I love that shield. Do you have any information regarding age, lengths, etc?

Charlie your P. O. Box is like a slot machine that hit all 7s this time! Wow those are some gorgeous Schrades and the Ulster ain't half bad either:D. You're getting me all revved up for the April show:eek: Lloyd

Haha Lloyd- all the sevens is bang on!

Nice- no VERY nice knives Charlie- Just in case you and Augie are keeping a list- may I please put my name up on that list to borrow that time machine ( just for one of your minutes;)).

Thanks Adam! Glad you like 'em!

Wurr, the Black Schrade is 3" and likely made prior to WWII. (Thanks Eric!!)
The Peach and the Ulster 3 1/2", and likely from the 1930s.

I can feel the Oregon show approaching also, Lloyd!!

Thanks afishhunter!

Thanks, Duncan! You will go back in time when you come to Titusville!!

The peachseed jigging on the Schrade is classic, who DOESN'T love that look! But that U!ster is a beaut, love the bomb-ish shield. What wood is that? Oil her up and that baby is going to shine!

Three great knives, though nothing can beat that peach seed jigging, OH Man.
I'll take may turn after Duncan :D

That wood is probably Cocobola, jnevill. I am just deciding how best to get rid of the rust without losing all that original finish.
Wipe the blades with an oily, rag guys and girls!!

Thanks Philllll and Mike!

I was rubbing the Ulster down with an oily rag, and chuckling at something on the radio, and sliced the tip of my pointer finger!!
Cleaning a knife is no laughing matter!!
This old knife slices clean 1/2" strips off a sheet of newspaper! And, it looks like it has a factory edge!!
This knife was made with skill and care!!

Yah, the jigging on that serpentine is just tremendous! At times I can't get over the fact that these were production knives, that the covers on the top two were just, well - normal. GEC and higher end Queen products come close or very rarely surpass pieces like this, but at one time it was simply expected. If that makes any sense. Congratulations on some fine additions to the collection, Charlie. ;)
Thanks, Neal

Charlie put these fabulous Schrades in the "Elusive Schrades" thread and bring that wonderous collection of hard to find Schrades back up to the first page! Thanks, Lloyd

Outstanding, Charlie! Nothing like seeing those old, original surfaces and sharp-cut jigging on antique knives. Does my heart good to know there are such well-preserved examples, well cared for by you.
