This old Buck has been finding paths since 1975. I was 14 when I received it. My hiking accessories have changed over the years, but not the knife.

One thing I've always noticed is sometime during the pre-86 era, Buck changed the design of the pommel. Here's another pre-86 knife from the internet. My pommel is smaller with less "hook". Does anyone know when this change occured?

I know what you mean, Jeff. I have more expensive knives, but it seems I'm always grabbing this one.
