The pattern on the standard G10

The pattern on the standard G10 scale is really beautiful. No other knife maker has this same pattern. Feels so good and secure yet it's not too rough. Doesn't rip your hand or pants up. The blade and grinds and scale colors are most often the topic of conversation and yet as I look at many of the photos posted in the photo threads I can't help but admire the beauty of the G10 pattern. So, how did Rick come up with this pattern?
 
I am not sure how the pattern was made or how Rick came up with it. However, I couldn't agree more. The G10 on an XM is perfect in my opinion.
 
It is indeed very nice, not too abrasive, and not too slick. I'm surprised ZT and other makers don't copy it.
 
Mabe this could be a clue.... I believe it was one of Ricks first designs "the Hinderer Rescue Tool" I've carried this one for seven years.

Cool observation Wowcoop! Gerber's get a bad rap but that one looks like it's served you well!!!!!
