I should say My Perfect Khukuri arrived today.
A 14" wood handle BDC from http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=333368

Everything feels just right and it looks great too.

I will try to give it a little test in a few weeks against a 12" AK and the 12" Village Pen Knife I was lucky enough to win yesterday (Sorry no hard testing for these guys)

Well I guess I don't need anymore Khuk's since I found my precious.
Not bad really, it only took me three tries.
16.5" WWII......TOO BIG
12" AK.............too small
14" BDC...........Just Right
I grabbed the Village PK yesterday just in case.

The worst thing was Customs charged $5.00 handling. The Fed's took $6.03 and the Provincial tax was $6.89. Nice eh?
And to add insult to injury they classified it as a "novelty item".For the French
it is "Fantaisies - de fetes. carnava"? :barf:

Low on funds now.
Hoping for a nice tax return.

I'm out of the tank.

Chuck

B) WHOO-HOO!!! One less shark in the water. It'll give me more of a chance to get "The Perfect Kukuri." :D

BWHahhahhaahhahahahha, snicker. :p :D

You cain't have THE Perfect Khukuri because there are only two made and they ain't arrived yet thanks too the Damned Presidents Day.

Oh wait! You said THE Perfect Khukuri for you. Well now that's a different amatter but how will you ever know until you try all the Dui Chiarra Fully Curved khukuris.

Anticipating the arrival of one of the only two at the present 17" Foxy Folly tomorrow.:p  :D

Yvsa said it right. HOW can you KNOW for SURE if you found the Right one, if you haven't tried at least one of each model, from each kami?

Now, where did that lotto ticket get off to?:D :D :D

14" BDC sure is a sweety....I'm with vrex on this one. :D

Well, congrats vrex, but i have to say i'm not holding my breathe;) I thought the same thing after my very first 15" villager khuk. "wow! This is really the only knife i'm ever gonna need for my next camping trip!" Then the sickness set in. 20+ khuks and 2+ years later I sill have to snap one or two DOTD up..just to keep my teeth sharp;) Khuks are kind of like multi-tools or SAKs when you get into that stuff. No matter how many you have you're going to pine and fret over which one to take. It takes my fiance' 1 hour to get ready for work and 20 mins for me, but she still beats me out the door as I have to pick which multi-tool, which SAK, AND which little HI i'm going to take with me today:) (BTW it's the wave, soldier, bilton combo today;))
Once again, congrats on beating the sickness, but i fully expect a relapse;)

Oh, How true! Always the anticipation of a better one, different one, unique one, I really like that one! :)

There's another one out there that's perfecter. Your mission, should you choose to accept, is to find it! ;)

When I first read the title of this thread I ran as fast as my stubby legs would carry me to check on my 20" village AK and then my 21" Chit. I was wondering how you got my khurks then I read your post. Yes I had to check on two khurks because I think everyone has at least two perfect khurks. :D ;)

My friend Raghorn gave me the perfect khukuri.
It's a pre- stroke Bura, a 16.5" Chiruwa AK, precisely formed blade and handle. It was so beautiful Raghorn could not bear to be around it, lest his wife compare the two and prefer the AK to him. So off it went to Montana, where it is one of my 'go to' blades. It gets worked and is no longer shiny or quite as shapely, but even more beautiful.

(as you all know, Raghorn is hideously ugly, having been captured by ex Nazi's living in Brazil, and forced to undergo experimentation with Alien gene grafts. They were unsuccesfull in installing the third eyeball, and there remains an excavation on Raghorn's forehead where he stores pencils. )

But we all know there is no perfect khukuri.

Munk, you had me laughing out loud. :D

Then the rumors are true.

Except I heard the excavation is used for holding dice as he's a compulsive gambler.

 :p ;)

Too bad the cold war is over. he could have used it to smuggle microfilm out of the USSR. I guess he still could, but what would be the point. what was once patiotic is now completely stupid;)

I think it's a sort of Medicine pouch for him.

I guess you could store tobacco in it. That would just turn the skin yellow over time. Maybe if you lined the area with some aluminum foil first...

Some folks cook stuff on thier car engines wrapped in foil. Maybe one of those nugget potatoes wrapped in foil when he had a fever.... Same principle.
