Well I think I have finally done it....found my perfect EDC knife. The Delica 4 with ZDP-189 steel and British Racing Green Scales.

The knife has everything I need, and everything I like all in one package. I won't go into a huge review on a knife that has been reviewed thousands of times before.

I like Delicas. I find it to be the perfect size for my everyday tasks. The ergos are a perfect fit for my hand. The moveable pocket clips are a must for all of us leftys. These are the reasons I like it.

Why do I love it? The ZDP slices like no other. It makes light cutting almost effortless and harder cutting much eaiser, and keeps the edge useable for an eternity. I love the color. Black knives usually draw more attention in an office environment so for me black is usually restricted to weekend or after work carry. The bright colors are not really my cup of tea either, so this subdued color is great. Finally, I love it because it's not typical. Some people call it "second type of cool". I like having something a little bit out of the ordinary.

I have a lot of more expensive, more exclusive knives, but this one seems to be the one I always reach for in the morning when I am gearing up.

Thanks for reading.

I really think the Delica may be my perfect EDC as well. I have an older one and I just ordered a few Byrds to tide me over till my birthday in April. Then I think I shall ask for a FFG Delica from my wife. :)

Of all the knives I've owned traded/sold off the Delica 4 Light Weight with black FRN still remains in the collection.

Makes for a great beater knife, carries small and well LIGHT. Easy 4 finger grip and more than adequate cutting edge for my needs. The Saber Ground blade also gives it that toughness.

My main e.d.c. is a black delica 4 sabergrind pe vg-10 right now . But I have a blue stretch zdp189 being delivered today . I will be testing it out for sure . it;s a ffg

Before I received the knife I was wishing it was FFG for better slicing, but now I feel like the ZDP Steel Saber Grind was the perfect way to go. It still slices like a laser and is thicker and tougher than the FFG.

I totally agree, I love my Delica 4 FRN Full flat grind, VG-10 steel. I got it in grey 5 or so months ago and carry it with me every day; it rarely ever gets bumped out of my rotation (it's sitting with me right now).

I have never had a knife that cuts as well, is as strong and is so damn good looking/great feel ergonomics. (Of course, that could be because I am still knew to knife collecting) :D

Any chance you have/or can take some pictures of it?

I traded my first Delica and always regretted it. Meant to pick another up over and over but there was always something new. As Christmas grew near I put a bug in my Wife's ear (along with some bookmarks) and on Christmas day opened up a brand new G10 Delica. They are just a great knife period.

I have to agree. I still haven't abandoned my Endura, but most of what I need a pocket knife for is handled well by my ZDP Delica.
