The perfect knife set?

I've been struggling looking for worthy knives to review that fit my protocol for my channel. They have to fit a niche and use and be within a certain price range. As I was working out the stuff I had looking for the holes, I had a list written and it looked to me like a set that would do anything. It goes like this:

Becker BK24 (just ordered): Small tasks
Becker BK7: Medium to large tasks
Condor Bushcraft Parang: Heavy chopper
Tramontina 18" Machete: Foliage Chopper
Leatherman Wave: Very small cutting tasks/Multi-Tool
Bahco Laplander: Light to medium bushcraft saw

And the "Less" option:

Becker BK24: Small Tasks
Becker BK9: Medium to Large/Chopper
Tramontina 18" Machete: Foliage Chopper
Swiss Army Champion Plus: Very small tasks/Multi Tool
Bahco Laplander: Light to Medium bushcraft saw


The Beckers are the backbone. But as far as I can see with what I have and what I like, I think this batch could cover anything. See any holes?
 
i like something in between a 14/24 and a 9-
i like.my 14/16/9 combo -but since i like to go tool heavy i always have these with me as.well

cold steel trailhawk
sak one-handed trekker
leatherman wave
 
If we're talking about a collection of knives to pick and choose from for each outing my list is something like this:
-good fullsize axe
-quality tomahawk
-large machete (18+")
-shorter machete (less than 18" but closer to 12-14")
-BK9
-BK10
-BK16
-Mora (companion is my favorite)
-BK11/14/24
-leatherman with a saw. (I have a sidekick for EDC and an ST300 for pack, among others)
-a couple good folders

Of course I have quite a few more than this and I would like to figure out where they all fit in because I've already given away the ones I don't want and would like to use the rest.

For a knife nut there will always be holes! You haven't mentioned hawks/hatchets/axes, so I assume that's all new territory to explore too. You'll likely spend a lifetime (and a cumulative fortune) trying to find the "perfect lineup." Enjoy the journey!
 
I like my small to mid size blade have a good size handle. I think if they release that new Becker model clip point it and a 9 will cover more bases. I believe it is slightly smaller than a tweener but bigger than. 14.

Are you talking about the Ka-Bar 1117?

It's not part of the Becker line but it is between the BK14 and BK17 in size. I won one, I'm not crazy about the handle design but I'm thinking about modding my extra BK14 scales to fit.

I didn't mention hawks/hatchets because I put the superior Condor Bushcraft Parang in that spot.

What the hell is that? Never seen/heard of it before.
 
If you out a good size handle on the 1117 you may have e perfect Becker.

There's only a few out there right now. It hasn't been released yet. A while back someone started a thread criticizing Ka-Bar for not having representation at blade 2013 all the way up until the end of the last day. It got ugly but everyone who was IBTL was given one. (including myself) :D
 
That little guy would look incredible with a stacked leather handle.

BTW, one of the big online knife retailers is already offering them, so maybe they'll be in the pipeline sooner than later.

They have been released...I've seen them at some online stores and checked with Toooj to see if it was legit...It was ;).

Must have been recently. I can't find them online, even placeholder pages. I can't even find it on kabar.com.
 
I actually did find the knifecenter listing a while ago after about my 4th google of one variant of "kabar 1117" or another. Actually I think that's the one that did it. However that was the only listing or mention I could find of it anywhere other than talk of the early ones given out by Ka-Bar. As ga-ga as everyone has been over the thing I thought the board would light up as soon as they hit retailers.
