The Perfect Knife?

Most days, I carry an Alox Electrician. So I just found the Old Timer 93OT. Did Schrade make the perfect knife in the 80's? I've never been a big fan of their scales but up till now I, like many, think the Hawbaker Muskrat may have it all figured out for my EDC needs anyway. This might even be better. Pinchable sheepsfoot and no unwanted spey blade. If anybody would make a 2 blade clip/Sheepsfoot/Wharncliffe 2 blade combo (🙏under $80) they would sell like crazy! Frustrating. So did Old Timer make these in carbon steel or just the Schrade+? There are 2 on the major auction site but they're high as giraffe...tails.

What you call 'The Perfect Knife' has been made twice as an annual forum knife. Here's one made by Canal Street Cutlery with bocote covers.

Nice. That would definitely be easy in the pocket. Sep 2021 Buck of the Month was getting close. Just wish it was a more commonly offered option.

This is what I want Case to make.
They can leave the spey blade of the 63032 stockman, or use the sheeps foot from the 63032 on the 62032 Texas Jack but they'd be assembling the exact same parts no matter how you look at it.

My modification of the so called pen blade is functional, but it's a little smaller than the factory sheeps foot from a 63032.

Here the 2018 Forum Knife. Buck recently re-issued this with micarta scales I believe?

Also, GEC made the Possum Skinner on the 82 frame as single-spring. My picture but knife no longer in my stable.
They also issued a knife called Furtaker (to some derision from 'traditionalists') on the 53? frame with Clip/Wharncliffe at the same end.

Perfect knife is a state of belief not reality :)

I am also a fan of the clip and wharncliffe combination. This one is 3.5" closed (sorry about the recycled photo). Very nicely hafted and beefy blades. More than $80, though. I would really like to get one with the blades on opposite ends on a single spring, like (I think) the Canal Street posted above.

Thanks. This Tidioute is nice, as is the Furtaker. The 2021 Sep BOTM is the one you're talking about. All nice. All not regularly available.

Yes, you're right about that but you never know your luck, patience is a guardian

Thanks, Will
