I opened up the house this morning, external doors at 5am to air the house. It is the best part of the day. I take a cup of tea onto the veranda and personally water my Paw Paws and sit on the cool concrete and chill. Wife and kids dozing and the dog for company.

This dude and his friends came to visit my herbs on the front of the veranda. A ground bee.

3 days ago my Paw Paw tree sheared off ½ way as only one paw paw had ripened the weight of another 22 growing was too much. Well here is a pic of the first to be salvaged for brekki.

It is difficult to run a garden in high heat, semi desert conditions in mineral deficient soil. My Mango and figs get drained bath water while the paw paws and herbs get from the washing machine and my morning attention.

Nice pics. I had to look up the Paw Paw. Apparently the taste is a cross of banana and mango. Yummy! The seeds aren't edible are they?

That looks like what I would call a papaya, but whatever you call it, it looks good.

Lime or lemon. Very similar to a Papaya (red/deep orange) fleshbut more yellow and it's own soft taste very dependant on ripness.

The seeds are scraped off but can be swallowed with out effect. The paw paw plantations at the sewerage plants attest to it going right through the gut.

Sounds like a lovely start to the morning and top marks for the gardening!

It irritates me a little that here, all our waste water and a large amount of the rainwater end up in the sewerage system whilst we water plants and flush the toilets with filtered soft water piped from the Welsh mountains.
