The perfect outdoor stick for me ? Quite possibly.

A while back I got an African Walking stick. It was ok, but I didn't like the over sized palm ball and it jiggled a bit, from the slim lower shaft, when I walked with it. Realize that I am 6'2 and 250 lbs. Then today I got my Walkabout in the mail. It is everything that I wanted in the African, even after I moded the Africans head. As you can see hopefully from the pictures. The Walkabout is taller (better for me), and it has a smaller palm ball from the factory (which I like). The walkabout looks and feels very sturdy with extra girth as you near the palm ball. Now this is truly a bush basher and I look forward to clearing dead fall brush, or correcting dog attitudes if need be.

I have been looking at the Steven Segal stick just for the extra length, at 44 inches its the longest of the bunch....the only thing stopping me from ordering it is I can't find a decent photo of the tip end to see if I can put a walking stick cap on it for traction....:(

A good dog will not take correction with a stick, but they will respond appropriately according to the escalation in force. Just saying.

It's not round. I don't think you'll get one of the standard cane tips on it without a mod. They ship it with a rubber cap; but it's not as durable as the drug store cane tips.

When I get home I'll see if I can get you a pic of the tip.

From what I've heard, you can do decent mods with their polypropylene.

Find a site that sells walking stick hardware, and you can get a foot kit. They have a little threaded shank, usually with a pointed or X-pattern carbide tip. drill a little hole in the end of the cane, epoxy in the shank. The matching foot has internal threads that match the shank, just screw it on. Replacement feet are more expensive than drugstore tips, but they are better quality and last much longer anyways.
