I finally found them! The perfect pair of pants to carry my folding knives clipped to the pocket.

I know it may not seem like a big deal, but recently I had a rough time finding something that would work. You see that 5th pocket is my nemesis, either the rivets stick out and scratch the handles of the knife, or with all the stuff in my pockets the pants would feel like they are choking me.

So what did I end up with? Wranglers!

I'm so not a cowboy, but their relaxed fit puts the 5th pocket high, and the main pocket low, solving all my problems! The rivets are smoothed out, and they are actually really comfortable. Also, for the price, I bought another Emerson because I figured the pockets will be shred pretty quickly. :)

How about you, what pants work the best that you've found?

The perfect pair of pants to carry your foder!

I usually carry my fodder in some sort of food bag. Sorry couldn't resist. Might want to change the title though...

I Love my 511 taclite pro pants and shorts (I know, I know) but they really do work great for me. They have a dedicated knife pocket RF. Plus they have lots of other pockets for all my other junk.

Thanks man! Fixed title, my L doesn't work often on the keyboard, annoying!

I to raid the local Walmart for the higher end Wranglers they sell. Heck sometimes they even have Levis! I always have 2 knives. One is a smaller practical blade in the front right and my tactical in my rear right. Good times and cheap!

Wrangler Rip Stop cargo pants. Heavy duty enough to work in but lite and comfortable. Plenty of deep pockets for a lot of knick-knacks and whatnot.

If you really want good pants to carry a blade check out some tactical/climbing pants. I have TruSpec ones. They have a small pocket right inbetween your front pocket and back pocket. Perfect size for a blade or thin flashlight. May not fit some wide knives but it carries my PM2 just fine.

You can see the pocket I mean in this picture from the web. He has a flashlight in the pocket.

Comes in multiple colors, oh and they're water proof. They're awesome.

Wranglers are my choice. I like the ones with the hidden stretchy stuff in the waistband. I have zero issues carrying a knife and I also keep a steel ASP in my pocket.

Have my Wranglers on right now carrying my 37 gram Deejo Tattoo series. Don't even know its there.

Vertx Phantom pants are IMNSHO the best tactical pants out there for EDC purposes. No velcro flaps, no snaps, no buttons, just simple easy cargo pockets that are hidden until you need them. I think they're worth the little extra compared to the Tru-Spec, Blackhawk, or 5.11 tac pants.

:D

Jeans are my go to, but recently I found these on the Big South American River website:

Carhartt Men's Cotton Ripstop Relaxed Fit Work Pant

They have lots of pockets, run true to size, and are tough... plenty of options for a modern folder and some pretty good options for a traditional as well. Love the reinforced pockets... the extra material is placed just where my Emersons do the most damage. I liked them so much, I bought a second pair.

I'm a jeans guy, and I love the "regular jean" or "regular shorts" from All American Clothing Company. High quality, US made, and the pockets are like a 5 gallon bucket on each side. CS Hold Out I is no issue to carry comfortably.

There's a reason they call me Peter Pantsless. I clip my folder to my man-thong.

Wore 5.11 and other major tactical brands for a couple years then went to Columbia ROC pants.. Now i pretty much only wear Duluth's

I would wear Columbia's ROC designs a lot more if they weren't so baggy, or built entirely for righties. Duluth's stuff is great- I wish could find them in stores. Sizing is a huge PITA.

Once again, IWB carry solves the problem. Ever pair of pants I own works fine with this type of carry, and Ive never had to worry about any of the problems all you "frontloaders" have been complaining about:p

Peasants!

Since these are no longer available I have been forced to settle with Wrangler and Duluth jeans. The Wrangler 31MWZ series has a 6th pocket for a knife.

I'm a 9-5 desk jockey, so I'm usually wearing slacks or nice khakis. If I have a client coming in to meet with me, or some big wig from one of the companies I represent (I'm an independent insurance) I have to wear a dress shirt and nice slacks, so I carry a Lionsteel Opera. The normal every day I carry something thin and light for the most part, such as my PM2, Brous Bionic, ZT 0770CF, or maybe even my TSF Beast. Fridays I carry a bigger folder.

Weekends and evenings, I wear Lucky jeans. They fit my weird body perfectly. My cargo pants are mainly from DXL's house brand.
