The perfect solution

So yesterday my wife gave in and let me open my birthday present early and to my surprise when I unwrapped the package I saw an Emerson box!:D Inside the box was a black blade, serrated, horseman! This is my first Emerson and I was/am really impressed with the solidity of the knife. I love the grippy g10 and the way the knife is perfectly balanced in hand. Man, the horseman really melts in my hand and has such a nice weight to it.

Anyway fast forward to this morning I was playing around with the wave feature (you know nothing good can come from playing with a sharp knife lol). I waved it out a couple of times, put the knife back in my pocket, walked past my couch and decided to try the wave again…big mistake! As I waved my new horseman out, and heard the blade snap into place with authority, I felt something brush against my fingers. I had slashed a good three inches of our (my wife’s) couch cushion! Holy crap!

My wife still hasn’t been home all day, so I have had plenty of time to figure out the perfect solution to my problem. An Emerson A-100! It’s perfect because it doesn’t have a wave for me to play with and kill our other furniture. So what do you think guys good solution or not?

Anyone else have any unfortunate wave stories?:o

PS… order has already been placed lol

Sounds like the perfect solution to me. Your wife should be completely understanding - problem solved :D

Repentence is easier than...nope your dead. Just tear the band aid off. On an aside, any women that will buy you an Emerson is a keeper.

Definitely going to follow this thread thru to the end!

I think buying a new emerson is a viable solution to this problem.

You'll love the A-100. I carry my mini a LOT and the full-size I have gets a good but of time as well. Its such a cool design and carries in pocket very well. Its really no bigger in the pocket than a large pen or sharpie marker.

And the ergonomics (or, lack there of really) are surprisingly comfy to hold and work with. My only, ONLY complaint with the Mini A100 is I would've made the cut-out for your thumb below the disk a little bitter. Hard to get my clumsy thumb in there. But I'm a big boy, I can deal with a little thing like that :p

enjoy. Oh, and good luck with the couch cushion. You know they make duct tape in many different colors - maybe one will blend in nicely!

we need pictures of the damage: couch and your face after wifes hears the news :-)

Thanks for the comments guys lol…I especially like the duct tape idea! I wish I could just flip the cushion over but it is built into the couch (It’s the cushion for your back not your butt and I cut it at the top) I explained what happened to my wife after she got home from work last night and showed her the damage. We both had a good laugh about it. I really do Have the best wife ever lol.

Sorry for the lack of pics as well. Every time I look at a camera I think of another knife to buy instead. I am sure no one here can relate.:D

You lucked out, brother. If it were me she would have had my head on a plate.
